343 we really need an entire classic category with no bloom, no AA’s, no fall damage, real camo, and the regular overshield armor effect (not those stupid flames). By category I mean Classic Team Slayer, Big Team Battle, Multi Team, Doubles, Objective, SWAT, Snipers, heck even Living Dead.
Plus one big thing is the ability for Spartans and Elites to play in ALL PLAYLISTS together like in Halo 2 and 3. Lets Bring Halo back to the top!
I think there will be. A highly doubt 343 will provide just one playlist to those who have Anniversary but not Reach. I’d expect at least half a dozen playlists. 343 are good people.

Um, no. Separate the Slayer and Objective.
Classic Category:
Classic Slayer (4v4 Slayer)
Classic Objective (4v4 Objective)
Classic Big Team (8v8 Slayer and Objective)
Classic FFA (8 players, mostly Slayer and some Objective)
Classic Squad Battle (5v5/6v6 mostly Slayer and some Objective)
Classic Doubles (2v2, mostly Slayer and some objective)
Classic SWAT (4v4 SWAT)

Stop saying SWAT people. We already have it in Reach and bloom literally has little impact on the gameplay because it’s basically the first shot wins anyway…
SWAT is probably the one playlist that bloom makes sense in. You miss that first shot and get punished for doing so if you choose to spam afterwords. It actually rewards accuracy. SWAT doesn’t need a classic representative.
Also I’m hoping that we will see some Halo 3 maps make an appearance (forge versions) even though we can go back to them now. I would love to see how they played out with Reach’s weapon sandbox. That and Halo 3 had some good maps which we shouldn’t let go to waste.

As long as you’re OK with having < 3000 people playing each playlist.

So you think there’s only going to be around 20k online for Anniversary? This is huge for many fans. I’d expect 50k+ in Anniversary playlists until H4, just because the gameplay will be infinitely better than Reach’s.

Search times wouldn’t be too much of a problem, but finding matches with players who are similarly skilled and have good connections will become a problem.

This. I can’t imagine many people putting up with bloom and slow gameplay if they have a choice. I won’t be.

Reach’s most popular playlist in Reach is Living Dead. The population evidently doesn’t care about skill-based gameplay. We might get a pretty significant boost to the population from the people who buy Anniversary, but I don’t think it’ll be enough to boost the population of Classic more than 100x that of Team Classic right now.

Because the people who do care about competitive gameplay moved on from Reach or just switched over.
