I love Capture The Flag. I really hate the way 343i BTB:CTF Mode Is Setup! This ā€œRANDOMā€ Flag position really sucks. I am a ā€œHalo Traditionalistā€

The Classic Capture The Flag is setup is at the base at all times not this random flag position crap. :rage:

We need Halo Infinite to be more in tuned to the Halo Tradition we have all loved! I just wonder if any of the people at 343i actually played Halo Combat Evolved or Even Played Halo Custom Edition. The way some of these game modes are setup gives me the impression they have not! Itā€™s nice to have new game modes, but for us Halo Traditionalist would it would be awesome to have some out our ā€œCLASSIC GAME MODESā€ Like in Halo Combat Evolved and Halo CE! :fist_right: :fist_left:

If I had Forge that I would get rid of that lame random flag position in BTB:CTF! ASAP!!

Theyā€™re not random though, they follow the same sequence every game. I actually kinda like the moving flags in BTB. It brings in the aspect of invasion where the map is being played slightly differently after each objective score.

I guess there wouldnā€™t be anything quite wrong with a CTF mode in rotation where the flag stays in the same place the whole game. Iā€™d rather they try and develop neutral flag or assault or something original than this though. Maybe the option for static flag positions will go into custom game options at some point.

Well like I said I am a ā€œHalo Traditionalistā€ and always will be. If you like the random flag positions thatā€™s great! I donā€™t! That is why we need a ā€œClassic Classic The Flag Modeā€ and like I said if I had Forge that would be the first thing ā€œI would remove in BTB:CTF!!ā€ :fist_right: :fist_left:

I actually really like the progression in btb. The way each capture is progressively harder to escape with I think is rewarding to the gameplay. With 12v12 it is very difficult to get any sort of effective team coordination, so the first capture being a bit easier helps keep the game interesting. I think if the flag was always in the last position then there would be a lot more stalemates, which is not a fun btb experience.
ā€œClassicā€ would probably work fine with large fire teams, but I suspect that those are like unicorns at this point.
