We need a Beta. Now.

343 at first I said that I didn’t want a beta. At first I said I trusted you. At first I even said weapon control was stupid. At first I even placed bets on how awesome Halo 4 would be. But now I’m Retracting all the opinions and replacing them with my new found and reasonable doubts. I don’t want to play maps that are simulated. I want that Halo 3 feel. Yeah, I want that feel from everyone’s least favorite map in Halo 3. Snowbound. Snowbound was a good map, but there was many cooler and bigger maps. But I (Me, not the forum community or any other part of the community) got this distinctive feel from Snowbound. Like I was in the middle of nowhere. Desolation. At first I said map and weapon control was stupid and I hated it. But now, I want it back so bad. Drop pods? Are you serious? That does not even make sense in terms of training and it breaks the Halo formula, in real combat weapons don’t fall out of the Sky. You have to look for them. They are somewhere, you just have to find them. And I think loadouts and weapon spawns would go good together.

I said I trusted you. I don’t anymore.

I said I didn’t want a beta, and that if postponed release that that would be horrible. But now I do not care about when. I care about what. I care about what the Heck you guys are doing to the most memorable games of all time. We need a beta. We need a beta so we can put our imput in. I dont care about release dates. I rather get an awesome game next year then a sucky game today. So leave your thoughts and vote in the polls.

I just want a minute or two of gameplay to shut everyone up.

I have the right to speak, and I did not speak against you. Keep it civilized.

a buch of people want a beta a bunch a people dont

I still feel that the real reason there isn’t going to be a beta is because 343i is afraid of the backalsh and that it’ll hurt the sales, not that it’ll take too much time.

we dont NEED a BETA, stop -Yoinking!- about things you have heard

what you make of these things could be different to how they are

ps- i read a bit of the post, not all of it

It’s already been confirmed that there won’t be a public beta.

At this point, saying we “need” to have one is like beating a dead horse with a dead horse.

A beta is a good idea for EVERY game, 50 or so people doing private internal testing will in no way generate better feedback than millions of people who will inevitably play the beta. This way, people can say what they like and what they don’t like about the game, and what needs balancing, changing and removing.

Personally, I don’t accept “Building a beta will impact on the development of Halo 4”.

You don’t build a beta! You just release a version of the game to the public, and boom! Beta done.

And hell, if its a money problem, how about a Kickstarter? They seem to be the popular thing these days…

Why not a dead zebra? ODST style

I don’t want a beta, and I happened to love Snowbound.

I agree in part. I definitely don’t have full trust in 343 anymore.

I would rather see them release this next year and get a beta than have us all go into this blind. Halo 4 needs a demo, a beta, a SOMETHING.

Since when do you know so much about how to get betas done? Betas are more complex than they appear. They do have the whole [80,000+?] microsoft employes, I don’t recall the number, just stating it from memory.

Just give us one game on Warhouse with all the perks and weapons announced and let us judge for ourselves.

Would I like a beta/demo/whatever? Of course…playing Halo 4 would probably be fun. Do we NEED it? Nope. Showing some gameplay to see how some of these new elements actually look/feel/play out in a game would probably be enough to make most people relax and look forward to halo 4 rather than saying it’s the end of everything.

As far as the idea that weapon drop pods shouldn’t be there because it doesn’t make sense or isn’t realistic…it’s easily more realistic than having a rocket launcher suddenly appear out of nowhere on the floor right in front of you, and for it to re-appear every few minutes. If y’all wanted to do things more “realistically”; there would be no weapon spawns on map. You’d either take the weapons from fallen comrades/enemies, or they’d be dropped in as reinforcements.

For the “we don’t have time to make a demo” response…I’m not sure. That could be true. When the game is being developed, it’s likely in a fairly fluid state. To release a demo/beta/thing, they’d need to take a snapshot of what they have, and then spend time polishing that version up a bit so that it makes sense as a complete experience before they can release it (probably mostly will be hiding extra features that they don’t want to show yet, but would still take a bit of time to adjust what they want to show vs. what they’ve been testing internally). Which takes time away from the polishing of the real game, which again is not worth it if they can just show a few gameplay videos.

> I agree in part. I definitely don’t have full trust in 343 anymore.

Well, they did see all of these reactions coming. Don’t lose your trust in them, just remain skeptical and indifferent, otherwise you’re going to look like a paranoid someone who jumps to conclusions.

You’re not going to get one! na na na na boo boo!

Whats your point? 80,000 < 1,000,000’s
