We lost, score 1000 to 90 on exile

we were the red team allready down 4 players at the start.
they had 4 guys sprint to our tank and easily took it. so then blue team had the Guass hog, the tank with gunner, the Banshee with a skilled driver, and within 30 seconds everyone on blue team had ordinance drop with snipers.

blue team had every single angle covered, no where to hide… instant death repeatedly.

3 guys on red team had NO deaths, top guy was like 36 kills no deaths.

Question is, how would you have handled this situation?? (i never quit a game, so no.)

I would have quit.

answer from fanboy who feels 343 does no wrong

“Well since I am a skilled player, I would have picked up the sniper on the way to tank and domed all 6 players before they even got close. And if I didn’t hit those shots I deserve to lose”

Also there is no way to deal with it, happened in halo 2, halo 3, halo reach, and halo 4. Except in halo 4 you can actually join games where the other team already has all the power weapons.
Happens to all of us, just deal with it, move on.

You need to have an anti-vehicle loadout when playing Dominion/BTB. So, I would have pulled out my Plasma Pistol and plasma grenades and went after 1 vehicle at a time. Meanwhile, there are tons of ordnance drops such as rockets/lasers etc that could help.

If the spawn camping was the issue… well… unless they were perfectly mapped out and had done this before… I would say use infinite run or camo (or both) and just get somewhere safe (there are plenty of less-used areas of Exile).

It’s actually quite easy to spawn kill on exile.

  1. tank and gauss are long range. Meaning you can spawn in the kill zone.
  2. banshee is aerial, so it barely affects spawns below it. The banshee bomb is extremely lethal as well.
  3. The other team is getting ordinances, you are not. Meaning its 8 one shot weapons vs 4 people with a plasma pistol and grenades. You can’t stick a gauss from long range unless all 4 of you actually communicate and 3 of you throw in areas you hope he dodges to and 1 of you makes him try to dodge. Then you have to hope that all 4 of you are good at aiming. Then you got to hope he has to sneeze at that exact moment…

I would have died with honor.

There has to be a name for the phenomenon of when one team is down a few players, the other team INSTANTLY BECOMES -yoinkin’- SEAL TEAM SIX fully coordinated acting as a team, using groups and basically kickin’ butt on all levels.

ya know what i’m talkin about?

Make your game in caves and rooms not front attack.

I would have stayed, I am a pretty good player so I would have probably gone positive maybe -1 to -3 but I wouldn’t care, just stay in and get the xp and take the loss and wait for the next game.

I would have quit. I won’t allow my K/D to go below a 2.3.

> I would have quit.

It’s called map coverage. happened the same way in every halo game. Remember paradiso on reach?

What I would have tried. HIDE.

Have a loadout with camo and an automatic weapon for such occasions and stay in a cave. Don’t engage in combat unless they spot you or you have a guaranteed quick and easy kill.

But in all honesty, I’d have quit. Halo is supposed to be fun and what you describe isn’t fun for anyone on the losing team.

Sounds like the “behind the scenes trueskill” is working as intended.

The only thing you can do is hide and get your boltshot ready.

As a side not, that particular map is extremely favorable to the blue side. 343 should move the Gauss to a more neutral place or place the red team closer to the tank.

My whole party joined a ragnarok game with us being down by 300 or so and the enemy team spawn camping us and had already took all our vehicles, we stayed fought it out and ended up winning by 300 and had them pinned in their spawn! Good times! Although turning the tide against the gauss on exile would’ve been harder.

Had more than my share of those games today. I’ve seen the gamut, betrayals (inexperienced non-intended), spawn killing, games I just couldn’t the right side of a barn, the games I played well the rest of the team just didn’t seem to be doing anything, games finished within 5 minutes. I even had a JIP game that I spawned, took 3 steps, instantly killed and the game was over.

It happens.

thanks for the good replies, I think hiding would have been the best option and i did try that somewhat but blue team also had a wolf-pack cleanup crew running around destroying all the “hiders” lol

Welcome to the red team on exile. I’m luckily usually blue team and when being blue ice only lost like once. Usually I’ll drive the gauss and my gunners get 30-50 kills with zero or maybe 1 or 2 deaths.

That map is so one sided its sad.
