Horrible customer service
OK so my ping on the Xbox diagnostic is 176ms obviously it’s not pinging inside New Zealand. I can ping anywhere in this country and the highest I’ll get to is 60ms on a horrific server on a bad day. I live in Christchurch my average for an Auckland server 21ms ping majority of Australia around 120-140ms. I called Microsoft who said they have a dedicated New Zealand server for Xbox live and that’s what the Xbox should be pinging well the country is set to New Zealand on my Xbox and I’m getting 170-190ms average so are they full of shizen to?
I started looking because I experience high latency compared to others when match making and can’t match make free for all games at all. I tried to get 343’s attention in the forums but they don’t give a crap so started to look elsewhere my Nat type is open tried different DNS servers went through port forwarding everything I could my side. Then I called my ISP they have done everything they can and said the only way they can improve it there end is with direct server addresses which 343 and Microsoft won’t give out. Short of them tracking my traffic and getting gateway addresses there’s bugger all they can do. When I then called Microsoft they gave me bs about an nz server wouldn’t give me addresses and said its a 343 issue 343 won’t answer on these forums and hence I’m stuck.
There was a brief time this game ran beautifully in nz and Australia and looking through it might be when they removed geo locks which is what would make sense because all playlists won’t be able to find matches in nz. We are to small you won’t let us get to American servers unless we are in a fireteam and then performance is degraded because of high latency. I play with guys from Australia but only on certain playlists… is this to keep up performance or something because they can all play free for all and every playlist but in New Zealand we get screwed what the hell 343 brought the collectors edition which here cost me $380 and I can’t even play all game types or play without crippling lag at least a couple days of the Week.
Unless this changes or I at least get the curtesy of a legitimate answer this will be the last halo game I buy and I have owned everyone to date apart from halo wars not my thing and I class it as cannon.
