Thinking back over the 10 years that Halo has been around it occurs to me that we have never managed to see (other than in Halo: Legends and the stories in the book written) that we have never actually witnessed the first assault of the Covenant on Harvest! Reach claims that ‘From the beginning, you know the end!’, but if you really think about it, Reach is actually towards the end of the Human-Covenant war. The earliest battles we get to see are in Halo Wars and even still that is set about 10 years AFTER the first attack.
The point I’m making is imagine a game where you can witness the first assault of Harvest, all the space and land battles, that happened before Halo Wars. Because if you read up on the history of Halo, there is a lot of battles, however big or small they may be, that I think deserve to be brought to life by actually getting to play them.
Can you imagine going to retake Harvest with 73 UNSC ships against one Covenant ship, above Harvest, and still lose half of the ships? The battle that must of went on in space and on the ground must of been epic! Can you imagine playing them?
I think, and I may be alone on this, that if they starting a new series of Halo, at least let us properly start the last one. From the VERY beginning.
Any feedback is welcomed because lets just say this is a little bit of research for me…
