We ever getting the radar fixed?

This is one of the biggest complaints I hear in Arena. It says “18m” on the radar. I think they forgot the other “m”. Seriously, with the speed of this game, a reduced-range radar makes absolutely zero sense. It’s essentially been turned into a death indicator. If you’re looking at it when a blip shows up, you’re dead. It’s become a distraction more than anything. They had it right in the beta. You can cover so much ground so quickly in this game. The radar needed to expand in direct proportion with that. 30m seemed to be a tad excessive to me but honestly they had the right idea and it was infinitely better than where it is now. The other thing is that it’s confusing going from mode to mode. Btb is 25m. Arena is 18m. I think warzone is 30m? Correct me if I’m wrong there. Either way, the lack of continuity is jarring and 18m in Arena has basically rendered the radar into decoration.

Its not broken.

But is does feel a little small. I say increase it to maybe 20 or 22 meters. Not the much larger, but enough to probably make it as useful as it was in the older Halo games.

I like it the way it is.

It doesn’t need fixing. Don’t rely on it so much and you’ll be fine.

Increase the range for social playlists, but for ranked arena it’s fine.

First off, it’s a motion sensor not a radar. Radar you’d still be able to detect someone crouch walking or standing still.

Secondly, it’s main function is to let you know you have an enemy in the vicinity and it’s time to focus up. It’s there to inform, not to be used as a crutch.

Mendez said it best, “Machines can break, use your eyes”

no I like it…

Why fix something that is not broken? I would prefer no radar, but the 18m will do for now.

It’s not broken.

Up it to 21m. Seems like a fair compromise between 18m and 25m. Plus it’s a multiple of 7!

The 18m is absolutely pointless… By the time they show on radar… We’ll you can already see em. Sorry I want the real radar back from halo 2 and 3.

I’m not looking for a crutch. I’m just looking for it to actually serve a purpose. By the time you see the red dot appear on the tracker, they’re basically close enough to hug. It’s simply too weak. At least compared to previous titles. Games that had absolutely no division on the radar issue. That’s probably the most telling, non anecdotal evidence in favor of the contention that it’s too weak. In all my years of playing Halo, I’ve never heard a single complaint about radar until H5. Not in game. Not in reviews. Not on the forums. I’d be willing to compromise at 22m or something like some suggested. Anything is better than the pitiful 18m range. Which it’s not even at, by the way. Go into a custom game with a friend, position him at the end of the radar and observe the distance. It’s like 10 feet…

I can make the same argument about Sprint and Armor abilities. But guess what, they were implemented into the Halo series, just like the new Radar length. The radar serves a purpose, its shows people near you, not kinda near you.

it serves many purposes

i wish it would show above and below, I know the red dot is smaller if they are on a different level, but i would like it to show if its higher or lower at least. But the range is very short i agree. More of an attackers radar than a defenders radar.

It does. When someone is above or below you, the red dot is faded. If the person is on the same level as you, the red is bolded.

I think the range needs to be slightly increased for Warzone and FFA.

It’s simple, don’t rely on it so much.
