"We don't want to weaponize FOMO"

No it won’t, but it maybe from different leadership.

As far as I can tell there is no customization here. None of any of the various “armor” actually seems to do anything and as such, no matter how much you tinker with it your in-game character performs exactly the same as all others in all aspects of gameplay.

Hey troll, Every single person who every played any Halo game since 2001 knows that customization has no impact on the performance of your character.

Anyone else notice that the lore says it was released in Season 2?

Everything about this game drives me crazy, in a bad way

A game is more than just it’s gameplay. There are features outside the “gameplay” that make the overall product better. Theatre has nothing to do with gameplay, file sharing has nothing to do with gameplay, menus, “customization”, progression, all these great features have nothing to do with gameplay, but apparently, according to you, anything that doesn’t add to the “gameplay” is pointless. Get tf out of the Halo community if all your going to say customization adds nothing the the game.

We don’t want to weaponize FOMO

Unfortunately, it has been weaponized. The events are just making everything worse.

Imho, I would get way more hyped for events if they added cosmetics permanently to the game (modes too)

Like, I wouldn’t feel forced to play the event mode during the event to get the cosmetics, I would simply play the mode because it is a new mode and I like it (if I like it)

It would be more like, " Wow! That event looks like it brings a lot of cool new content to the game, I can’t wait to hop back in and try all the new stuff out!"

Right now it is," Oh boy, another event, better crawl back into the game and grind out the challenges to get the cosmetics before they disappear."

After the event is over, the cosmetics could simply go at the end of the season BP as unlocks.

And then the event modes could rotate in and out as rotational playlists, or they could become permanent if they are popular enough.

But that’s just me.

I brought the season 1 battlepass because I genuinely believe 343i won’t hold up their promise of a never ending battlepass.

I guess that shows how little faith I have in them.

I wouldn’t feel bad. They bamboozled a lot of us. F2P gives them a lot of room to be shady. You criticize anything or complain about how they are operating their business and they have the ultimate defense. They gave a lot of people something they didn’t want and get offended when you aren’t grateful lol

Of course theater has to do with gameplay. Replaying your various games whether or not you happen to win or lose can potentially help you become a better player.

File sharing sure, that’s basically just showing off your best/luckiest games and/or kills.

I’m not sure why you mentioned menus, those simply navigate the player to the proper playlists.

Progression in this game means nothing unless you are referring to ranked playlists. A player’s generic rank means nothing other than that they have played this game moreso than any player of a “lesser” rank.

“Customization” here simply doesn’t exist. No matter what you do, when you’re in a game none of any of the aforementioned things and also any of the “armor” will make any difference. It’s all about the player’s skill. I haven’t bothered to waste my time unlocking anything in the MCC yet I win a good percentage of my games nonetheless.

So in other words, you want a p2w game?

Why would any rationally-thinking human want a pay-to-win game?

I just want the currently useless armor/weapon/visor/etc… variants to actually have effects so we can customize our in-game representation. As it stands none of any of what I mentioned above actually does anything at all.

Yeah same. I played a ton of H5 last summer and had little trouble with queuing for matches

That is pay to win.
Anything like that that affects gameplay ends up being p2w

So you want customisable items to effect your Spartans in game stats, have special abilities, movement, powers or equipment? Why would any rationally-thinking human want that in a Halo game?

…but you don’t want to pay for them.

Because they want to turn Halo into some kind of weird mutation of CoD?

I think you were right the first time…he’s a troll or just doesn’t understand Halo.

TBF even COD didn’t have any P2W cosmetics or customisation…perhaps the only thing that could be considered even remotely in that vein were certain very dark character skins or weapons that shot coloured tracers (both of which were just visuals and didn’t improve player attributes).

Disclaimer: haven’t played Cold War or Vanguard so don’t know if there are P2W items in either of those games.

How about weaponizing an actual desire to play this game

They do hav effects, visual effects so you can customise your ingame reptesentation. If cosmetics locked behind spending and grinding had an effect of gameplay then it would obvioisly lead to a very unfair game as seen acrosd the rest of the industry. I can’t tell if you’re trolling.
