When I first start halo and hit the start button an error pops up that says “We couldn’t get your latest saved data.” If I hit the try again button nothing happens. If I hit B it goes to “Error authorizing user with Halo 5: Guardian Sevices. You will be unable to access online modes.” I haven’t been able to play online for a couple days and I’d really like to. Anyone else having the same problem, or has a fix been found yet?
I hate how after a game it says can’t retreive data and you’ve just wasted 20mins as you get now points, rewards or xp

I did the hard reset, NO LUCK!
Has anyone found a fix for this. I just completed the update on the game and on my xbox, I have also cleared the persistent storage on the Blu-ray(this fix was given to me by xbox support for BF4) and I did a reset on the system and still no luck.
I have had the same error too since Downloading the Update. It did work again after switching the XBone off and leaving it for a minute before restarting. Worked a little after that but it’s re-emerged again after just turning on my Xbox.
UPDATE: This appears to also be a problem when trying other games on XBone, as the error appeared for me on Forza 6. Possibly this is a much wider server issue at Microsoft?

Maybe it has something to do with those who downloaded Halo 5 opposed to those with an actual disk?

From what I am getting on Twitter, this is potentially an Xbox LIVE wide issue. We have the same problem affecting Forza 6, Black Ops 3, Battlefront and Fifa 16. Sounds like Microsoft have work to do.
UPDATE:
A Hard Reset solved the issue for me (ie holding down your power button for 10 seconds so the Xbox instantly shuts down). If you are on Preview Programme give this a try.

I was running into this issue this week, also, out of nowhere. I had been playing H5 successfully and one morning started receiving this. I tried everything that has been mentioned in this thread, so today I finally just went to Network Settings and checked both network connection and multiplayer connection. After checking those, I had no problem or error messages pop up! Also, not sure if this had anything to do with it but one thing I have started doing, whigh I’ve heard opens your NAT type for easier online gaming, is I hold down both triggers and bumpers after your connections are tested (at the “It’s All Good” screen). Good luck!

I just tried this and no dice.
I was able to play last night, turned on my xbox one today and it prompted me to update. Note that I’m in the preview program. The same error in the op keeps happening, can’t play using the offline save either. Physical copy btw.

Did the same thing to me.
Weird things like:
1 - it says “Sign In” at the top of the all tabs, but I am already signed in.
2 - My gamer pic does not show (just white square)
3 - Colour choice does jack (White writing on white BG or Black on Black in the system menus)
4 - 0 Gamer score
5 - No Friends listed at all
