WE can't change what 343 does!

Dear Halo Veteran Community,
Please stop complaining about what 343 Industries does with Halo 6. They will do what they want, regardless of what you guys or their supporters think. You are slowing their development down. Instead of telling them how wrong they are and how stupid they are, embrace the fact that they open support forums for you guys to give them feedback.

Microsoft Studios is already time-crunching them, so the least you can do is support their decisions and not go full on Swords of Sanghelios on the Covenant (hopefully you’ll get the reference).

If 343i will do what they want, irrespective of criticism or support from the community, then how the hell are they being slowed down by what we say?
Also, what decisions about Halo 6 are even known at this point? We have no information about Halo 6; there is nothing to support or complain about.

So in other words they would have no reason to create a place where people can discuss the games and what they think about them, possibly offering constructive criticism and ideas they think would make the game better? Then 343 wouldn’t need to use that place as free market research in gauging the opinions of the franchise’s most dedicated fans. That seems like it would be a good idea to me. Now that I think about it, I think they should create this thing and call it a ‘forum.’ Then fans could discuss what they think the games could be and a small section of fans could then decide that whining about the fact that other people have opinions while implying a conspiracy they have no evidence for would be a good idea.

It sucks that you think the fans are “discussing” it when 1/3 of the forum posts are about how stupid 343i is.

A few bad apples don’t spoil the entire bushel. Even when they don’t realize that they aren’t being constructive. Have you ever noticed that? Someone accuses someone of something when they just happen to exhibit that quality and you aren’t quite sure if it’s projection or a lack of self-examination?

Honestly, people wouldn’t be complaining so much if they didn’t care for the franchise. Most criticism (in general) comes out of love for Halo. However, the least people here can do is give constructive criticism, present their opinions calmly and logically instead of being immature about it.

People are free to have their own opinions, though. You shouldn’t tell people to be quiet and accept changes if they genuinely don’t like the direction the series is taking. It also shouldn’t mean that people should leave Halo (because that’s something I’ve seen many people tell the critics. People are free to love Halo but also be unhappy with recent developments).

exactly, some of these Vets have very valid points and this a forum to discuss points. Sure we get a few bad apples and overly drawn out topics but maybe perhaps they are drawn out for some valid reasons. Our voices do matter, because we are a community. communities aren’t formed just from shutting up. they are formed through mutual cooperation and argument and the drive to make something succeed. And that only happens when you consider the faults.

The least we can hope for is that the criticism leads to compromises in future games that can please all types of fans. You can’t achieve progress without also remembering where you came from. Move forward without killing what made Halo what it was. Though, I can’t see much good coming out of the plot devices introduced in Halo 5, so I’m a bit of a pessimistic Halo fan right now.

Complaining about others complaining doesn’t really get us anywhere OP, it just adds to topic count
