We can stop cheaters

The Halo community should make both a post on here and a page on reddit where we link and post footage of cheaters so that multiple people can report them. This would discourage the cheaters until 343i does something

No you can’t do that. Naming and shaming is against the forum rules. Also promoting the mass reporting of players is against the Xbox ToS or CoC.

Cheaters are scum, so I have no issues with putting a Bounty Board on the forums lol

But even if they did, Infinite is Free 2 Play, the cheater will just make a new account and do it again because… well because they suck and require cheats to play video games like a 12 year old child.

Is it against reddit rules. Also that’s a ridiculous rule set. Do they want cheaters driving away their paying customers?

That’s what I mean though. They will have to keep making a new account. Discouragement

No, they don’t want them to get away with it. But you’re proposing something that could turn into witchhunts. Xbox has a method for reporting cheaters, it’s not perfect imo but it exists for a reason, use it.

Yes and multiple people can send in the footage to said Xbox methods. You can literally go into theatre and turn on outlines through walls and go to the cheaters perspective and see that they are blatantly walling. Cheaters are even posting footage of themselves online, bragging about how easy it is

Yes that’s true. You can send YOUR footage in of the experience you had or, a team can send in footage of THEIR experience. But, you cannot send in someone elses footage.

I agree cheaters are annoying and I would love to see them all banned. As things stand we have a report option to use. I suggest following the rules, but it’s your account.

If you want to risk it go for it.

They are only taking video evidence so if the person isn’t cheating. There’s nothing to worry about as it is very easy to identify a cheater using the method above. Therefore people who aren’t cheating, won’t even get posted and if they somehow get posted anyway, 343i will just look at the video and see themselves that they were not cheating

It’s not against reddit rules as far as I know. Alternatively the person who captured the footage using this method could send the footage in. Then they could post it on reddit and people could do the regular report on Xbox which would red flag or bring down the rep of the account (If it still works like it used to)

I don’t use reddit, so I’m not sure. But essentially you’re naming and shaming which is against this forums rules. What you’re proposing is definitely against the Xbox ToS or CoC as I recall.

I think it’s wrong, if the player is genuinely not cheating you just gave them a reason to report you for griefing as you called them out publicly on reddit / forum as a suspected cheat.

Like I said, there is a correct method to use, but you do you. I’m out.

Edit. Naming and shaming is not allowed on reddit from what I just read. I cannot link it due to this forum restricting links.

Are you sure that this rule is not referring to actually identifying a persons real identity. Because I am not proposing that

I just wanna see cheaters get banned as they are annoying to players who are legit

There’s nothing wrong with posting videos exposing cheaters(there are threads with cheater proof videos in them right now on the forums).

It becomes a problem when we single them out individually, but since these cheaters aren’t using their original gamertags and are using burner accounts that can’t be tracked to anything personal… the cheater videos really shouldn’t violate anything lol

I agree. But what about the genuine non cheaters that lagged out, got a glitch etc ? I’m all for banning cheaters, but the OP wants to name and shame them and then have others report them. That’s not ok imo.

If you or I or others encounter what we suspect is cheating, report it by all means but don’t post it for others to report, that’s the issue I have with the OP and Xbox has rules about it for a reason.

This wouldn’t do anything. The problem with F2P is they can make as many accounts as they want for free. This is exactly why going F2P was the worst thing 343i could do for the game.

That’s what I’m talking about. We should push hard on doing this so that less cheating goes un-punished. Sure they can make another burner account but that wastes their time and discourages them opposed to allowing them to run rampant

I’m talking about prioritising cheaters that are doing things like blatantly walling which is very obvious when you go to their perspective in theatre with outlines on through walls. For example: I was up a floor and on the other side of the building. This player stopped, looked right at me and followed me with the reticule to where I jumped down

We could just build whitelist communities where you have to be verified with a number of levels. Yes this would take effort and resources, remember ā€˜whitelist’ was the main stream a few years back. Of course due to the fact that you can make money off of cheats we will never see the whitelist emerge in the so called AAA titles because the companies have people making money off of the cheats.
Scenario:
We make a game without a cheat engine ban protocol, we release game and release the cheats for game, we make money from those playing the game and those cheating in the game. You know, like other ā€œestablishmentsā€ associated to world wars.
Anyway, I did not kill myself, but it just comes down to money at the end of the day, you either accept you part to play in it, or you don’t.
NOTHING is about you or people, it is all about others wealth. Even if you think the core values of a business resonate with you, you are more lost than others.

I don’t think that they do and that is the problem. I don’t think that 343i and Microsoft are doing anything. I don’t think that they give an S, unless we make noise about it
