But why?

Why do we assume that those that dislike H4’s MP are a minority compared to those that do like it?

Pretty much every quantifiable measure we have suggests that the majority do not like H4 MP. #4 on the XBL charts. Low online population compared to total sales. Horrid population in the DLC hopper suggesting people are not purchasing additional content for the game.

Everything points to the majority being those who do not like H4’s MP.

Ya OP, because the high competition between many triple A titles that are currently on the market for purchase has nothing to do with it at all right?

You and the other minority that sit here on the forums crying, need to move on from the past. The population of Halo games will NEVER be like it was in the past. People now a days have the options to play many different kinds of games unlike in the past where Halo was pretty much the only thing to play.

The population is gonna drop even more soon, when the BF 3 DLC comes out. It’s just how it works now. Get over it.

population has decreased over 80% since release… im no rocket scientist but im pretty sure that puts us with the majority…

all the people that love the game and are saying that the people that dont like the game are in the minority just dont have their facts straight and their numbers right…

how could we be the “vocal” minority when over 80% of the population has stopped playing? im pretty sure that makes us “hatters” the majority and you “lovers” the minority…

you’re the minority… please i would like to see how you prove that you are in the majority and we are in the minority…

all of the statistics i have seen lead me to believe otherwise, so please enlighten me.

Dont forget that not all people have Xbox LIVE gold and Halo 4 shipped with a 14 days trial code.

So not all people want to pay to play online.
They used the code and dont buy gold membership after 14 days was over.

Let me guess, you created a poll on a forum to back your claim?

Let me enlighten you. THE MAJORITY are playing the game and could less about the forums. In fact most of the majority don’t even come to the forums. The people that sit on the forums everyday are like 0.0000000001%

Halo 4 is no different than any other major title buddy.

BF3 is a perfect example of this. BF3 is the highest and fastest selling game of all time in EA history, even beating their golden franchise, Madden. In one month, BF3 sold over 10 million copies. There is nowhere near that amount of players playing right now.

I’m sorry, but you’re not the majority. In fact, you’re not even close. Here on the forums, you tend to have an “ingroup bias”. An ingroup bias makes yourself think that you’re “bigger” and “better” than the “others”. The truth is, more than 100,000 people play the game cumulatively over the day, and less than 100 will post a topic here. Let’s use our deductive reasoning, and we find out 100 is so much smaller than 100,000, that even if every active user on waypoint posted a complaint, you’d still be way off. You can claim that there is a “silent majority”, but a silent complainer is not much of a complainer, now is it? In fact, a “silent majority” would be more inclined to LIKE the game, because you’re much less likely to laud something you like, than to complain on something you perceive as inadequate.

Now sit down.

… oh man, if only you know how much you just proved my point… *facepalm

the majority of the players dont come to this forum… but statistics show the majority of players have stopped playing this game… and if the forums are only 0.0000000001% as you suggest… and most of it negative, then shouldnt that be an eye opener for you as to how many peopel really dont like this game?

first of all, prove that 100k people play it ever day… cause i see it struggling to pull in half that…

second of all… this games population continues to decline steadly ever week, you can deny it all you want. you can spint it around whichever way you want but any way you look at it you see lower numbers than the week before… for you to say that the majority of players are playing right now is ignorant and just shows how you think that whatever you believe to be right is right… its the opposite, you need to stop looking in your head and look at real numbers and see the truth buddy. I hate to break it to you but you are the minority, perhaps you need to look up the definition of it…

Your logic is as sound as: “There are 7 billion people in the world. Only 100 thousand of them play Halo 4. 100 thousand is smaller than 7 billion. Therefore, the people who play Halo 4 are a minority and therefore Halo 4 is a crap game”.

Try again.

Everyone who bought the game and played on Novemeber 6th 2012 was greeted to horrible lag. A poor forging environment, many missing elements they’ve grown accustomed to, and poor map design. Spartan Ops showcased how horrible the new Ai were and everything was off kilter for a AAA title’s first week.

Well you only have but a few minutes to make a good impression in sales and services, especially when an established store front goes under new management and when they are not vocal or gregarious about their location while selling a sub-par product, long time customers tend to look elsewhere. Business is business even in the Video Game market.

343 would have a major hill to climb to gain people back if they weren’t in charge of Halo and a established IP that is beloved. I believe over the year they’ll gain ground on visible population counters and Halo 5 will be a better product.

Now they just have to keep fixing Multiplayer and really get to work on a Spartan Ops Season 2 with some better writers and character dialogue coupled with some major missions and some firefight options under those Mission selections.

Next to that it’s really in the hand of the Map designers and the MM team to stop the bleeding.

so wait 7 billion humans have herd of halo evan the infants and the other countries who have never evan seen or herd of video games?. that makes no sense. not trying to bash your opinon, its just that when you say 7 billion people, your counting every country in the world including the third world countries, villages, ect.

Go back, read my post. Clearly you should take a psych class or two.

The population you keep bringing up is the daily peak. That’s users online at the time. Maybe if you did some addition (but that would be hard!) You could figure out that it’s considerably more than 100,000. But that would require you to think about your argument, so I’m not expecting you to do it. And if you want to talk about population decreasing, let’s go. Every game, ever made, no exceptions declines in population. Most (and I mean most) people will buy a game, play it for a bit, and forget about it.

This is clearly visible with steam achievements stats (woah, quantifiable data!) with the ever popular Fallout new vegas. 91% of people have left the FIRST HOUSE (what’s with the other 9%?). Whereas only 53% of people reached the 10th level. There is a steady evident decline there, but wait, it gets better. 23.8% of people completed level 30, which honestly isn’t that hard.

But what does this have to do with halo 4? I’m just showing that people don’t keep playing a game for a long time. Most people move on quickly, to other games, and other things. In fact, the population (while still going down) has been level for the past 15 or so days. So don’t tell me that i’m ignorant of stats that every self inflated waypoint poster like yourself flaunt like a piece of candy in a gulag.

I’e started to play a little again, mainly because of Grifball and Doubles. I still don’t like the feel of the game though. The only FPS I really enjoy anymore is Battlefield though. Halo 4 is a great game, campaign-wise, the multiplayer just feels lack-luster.

If the complainer were the majority, 343i would have bent over backwards to make changes because they would loose money come future installments. :=|

lol i dont even know what you are trying to say in this post… something about a game that has nothing to do with halo… i applaud you for knowing stats of a non halo game but that doesnt help you here now does it?

and on another note… you cant possibly say that just because there is only 50k people online at one time that there are more than 100k different people playing throughout the day… theres no solid hard proof that suggests that… how do you know that its not the same 50k people playing throughout the entire day? one person may play for an hour, get off, then get back on in a few hours… hes not a new person, he is still him, you see what im saying?

your arguement is flawed and you have no data to back your claim
