343 made no sences how they just made every single ODST just seemed to vanished out of existence. We all know that the UNSC Infinity is the biggest and strongest of the UNSC ships in survice so why would they only have regular UNSC Marines on board the Infinity and not have the more advanced Orbital, Drop, Shock, Trooper (ODST) as well.I would beleave that any Spartan IV would rather have a battle hardend killing machine than human meat shield in combat. I am a 405th member and there are only 3 halo related armor Spartan, Covenant, and ODST. Bring what the fans love dont make halo 1 the only halo with out ODST.

If I’m canonically correct, most, if not all, ODSTs were chosen to be Spartan IVs. All Spartan IVs are marines of elite stature, like ODSTs. I would really like, however, like to see our beloved Helljumpers in their original, famous, and best ODST look instead of a Spartan IV.

The SPARTAN-IVs are nothing what the SPARTANS used to be. No conscription at childhood, no genetic modification, AKA no beast mode Master Chiefs. There’s really no need for ODSTs when they can just throw on a new suit of armor and change their name to SPARTAN-IV.
That’s why the IVs are still nothing like the Chief and are just as nimble as ODSTs. Glorified marines, if you will.
Apparantly there was some changed to ODST’s in the books, try skimming through “Ghosts of Onyx” and beyond to see what happens maybe? I’m not up to them yet so I couldn’t tell you myself sorry.

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, if my 2nd favorite Troopers are to return, make them hellah more usefull then the ‘‘Dumb-Marine’’ AI which, essentially just makes bullet sponges.

Can we at least have some Orbital Drop Shock Spartans with ODST helmets? Or shall I call it ODSS helmets now?
The helmet should at least have appeared in multiplayer, for the ODST fans. I suppose Recruit helmet is a massive ripoff of the ODST design though.

To me the Recruit helmet looks like the ODST helmet.
I think even the ODSTs were more disciplined than the Spartan IVS
I hate the spartan IVs with a passion, they are just a bunch of jocks who have too much self esteem.
In real life combat, a group with that much superiority complex is going to get murdered very very quickly.
Because the ODSTs are effectively rendered obsolete with the S4 program. Why drop in a bunch of ODSTs when you can instead throw 4-5 spartans into the mix, and have most or all of them return every single time?
ODSTs are cannon fodder in a coffin.
There are about 20,000 ODSTs and only 500 Spartan-IVs, not all of the odsts can be spartan 4s.

I love ODST’s myself, but I have to agree with some of the responses. The new Spartan IV’s are the ODST’s. Even the Recruit helmet closely resembles it.

In the books yes, but that was back when Chief was still a young buck. Im pretty sure ODSTs, though they may dislike Spartans, look up to them since they’re efficient killing machines.
Well the Storm covies don’t have any Brutes, Drones or Skirmishers so maybe they didn’t need any ODST.
ODST’s are in my opinion better than the SPARTAN IVs
I like them more. ODSTs are more disciplined. The IV’s feel like arrogant jockeys
demanding respect prancing around in their armor, while they’ve done nothing to prove their worth. ODST’s have proven theirs, and they deserve respect.
Back to the comment about the SPARTAN IV’s being arrogant jockeys, probably the only reason it feels that way is because of Palmer, and while I like her as a character, she’s pretty much the only IV with a given personality in this game; and her personality doesn’t give the other IV’s a very pleasant light.
I rather have ODST’s than Spartan IV’s.
