There are many complaints for halo5 that are very valid, game isn’t perfect.
But today i played some halo4 again and i was absolutely amazed how much i miss and love halo5.
The movement didn’t feel smooth, jumping without clamber just felt wrong and the aiming… the aiming was absolutely terrible, the weapons didn’t feel great and you thought hit detection was bad in halo5? you can’t even compare the two.
In Terms of gameplay i have to say that halo5 is absolutely incredible. Anyone else jump back to older games and realise how great the new one actually is?
See, I would play some older Halo games… but hardly anybody plays Halo 3, there are no servers for Halo 2, I don’t want to play Halo Reach or Halo 4, and the Master Chief Collection is still broken, plus those other points about the different Halo games apply to the games in the Master Chief Collection.
Yeah you’re right, giving us the same old maps with a new scheme is totally spoiling us, isntead of giving us original maps, and features we’ve been asking for.
I play all of these games frequently. CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Reach, Halo 4, Halo 5. In fact, just two nights ago, I played matches in each and every one of them. In one sitting. On the same console. So yeah, we’re spoiled.
I think people complain about games for two reasons; One valid complaints of a games shortcomings, and Two because regardless of the game, people will complain. BlackOps3 and SW Battlefront are pretty great too, but they are not without their complaints…and Black Ops charges for DLC so I don’t think its a matter of being spoiled

To be fair, I often feel like I should clamber, thrust, or ground pound whenever I play Halo 4 (which isn’t very often, mind you) since they look and feel so similar to me. I even kinda forget which game I’m playing and wish to play Halo 5 over Halo 4 since it is pretty obvious that Halo 5 is the better game. Now when I play on any Halo from CE to Reach, it is completely different as the visuals and gameplay mechanics are different enough from Halo 4 and 5 that I can play them without the need to use the abilities that I have in Halo 5.

All the maps in H5 are new to begin with and every remix plays differently than their original. Features we’ve been asking for (ball games, infection) have already been announced. Fixes we asked for such as blue team color changes and warzone weapon despawn time have been implemented. Are you just upset that your mommy didn’t get you a pony for christmas?

I spent a few weeks playing through the MCC to complete the non-LASO playlists, and I actually loved the way the older games played, with the exception of Halo 4. Once I got back to Halo 5 I noticed it felt off.
Call me crazy, but running and jumping actually felt limited in Halo 5 after playing the MCC. I felt as if I needed to sprint just to get anywhere and I needed to clamber just to get on top of something.
In the MCC I could run somewhere in a decent amount of time without feeling the need to go faster and I could jump to higher ground seemlessy without having to go through an animation.
Don’t get me wrong, Halo 5 has good gameplay, but I definitely do not feel Halo 5’s movement is better than the older games.
Everyone can agree that this halo does not have most of the things the halo before has like gametypes, infection and online modes.
Every Game should build on what they had on the last, improving the quality and adding new things while maintaining what people got used to. This game does not.

Halo 4 was garbage Halo 5 is OK the older ones are amazing to this day I still play halo 3 online even if only 1000 other people in the world do
What I just don’t understand at all is why the hell were playlists such as oddball, assault, KoTH and Infection not available on release. What is the logic of denying fans and new players gametypes that existed in every Halo before H5.
343 messed up big time on this. You can see the rest of the forums are flooded with people complaining “where are the old gametypes?” “where are the old playlists?” “no legendary campaign unlockables?” “Ground pound and spartan charge SUCK” “Maps are terrible!!” (They are, even compared to H4) “what’s with all the REQ microtransactions” “sprint is terrible, remove it” "the campaign was too short, Master Chief wasn’t in it enough! “The campaign characters were not engaging” (True except for Exuberant Witness). “File Share is non-existant” “grenades are too plenitful” “there is no customization” ( seriously, cant even have unique colours on your emblem, lolwut?) “Can’t view your own team in pre-game lobby?” “No medals page in post-game lobby?” (Seriously, why the -Yoink- not?)
All these complaints can be found if you spend 5 minutes scrolling through forums. I have seen fans at the launch of every Halo and spent time on forums all around the web. Halo 5 has by far had the worst community backlash of any Halo game (H4 close second).
Let’s go back to Halo 3 release. I bet you wont be able to find close to half the complaints mentioned above and H3 was way more vanilla compared to what 343 is putting out. It also attracted such an overwhelming playerbase because of the social gametypes they had to offer. H3 had ranked and social playlists which attracted competitive players and players that just wanted to have fun! Now in Halo 5, you do not have a choice…you are stuck in Arena or you only get to play BTB which gets really -Yoinking!- boring after 5 games. Yeah there is Warzone but it’s the same as BTB after you play the same gametype on the same 3 maps multiple times, it gets so boring and I feel that’s one of the reasons H5 has lagged behind other big FPS’s and almost all it’s predeccesors.
Sorry for the long post but people say nobody explains themselves on here…well I do so if I get replies like “omg tl;dr” well it’s those people that are a waste of space on the forums and don’t contribute to the discussion.
I’m a die hard Halo fan, I grew up with this game and it almost became my job. I’d hate to see it fail because of things that can be improved. If 343 doesn’t hit Halo 6 on the bullseye, the Halo saga will really suffer.
