The Halo Community did more damage to Halo than any developer.
How? Simply, the desire of evolution forced onto companies.
Those OG Fans (Like myself) who screamed that Halo was the best game ever because it evolved and will forever do so laid the seeds of it’s destruction. We screwed up because Bungie listened, tried to improve and failed, 343i inherited the problem instead of purging it adding more until Halo 5. They have tried to fix the mistakes of Halo 4 with Halo 5 being a step in redemption but so much was sacrificed to do so.
The casuals akaany games Blood, the addition of microtransations, lack of gamemodes, continued removal of Elites and split screen removal was The Soul, the lack luster story took destroyed what could be persevered as a mind, and the body which is hte only moderately okay component. With no mind, blood and or soul but a body we’re left with nothing but a husk.
Halo 5 is a husk of a game. Not because of a cooperation but because of us, because of you and me. We’ve all made the cry for change but evolution can only go so far and even nature needs to take breaks. If such a Fus Roh Dah (yes) needs to take a break then what do you think a human creator needs to do?
While I hate many things 343i has sacrificed it still comes back to us. They changed so much because it was asked for, nothing is without sacrifice and the divided community is the result.
So please before you try to bash 343i or an community member who disagrees with you just understand that whatever you’re probably upset about, the people around you and yourself helped cause the issue.
Microsoft, 343i, Bungie, and the community are not immune to blame. Only so much can be done before something breaks, thankfully we’ve gotten past that point already. We’ve suffered (lore metaphors incoming) our own Great Schism and right now in the Blooding Year. If Lore keeps guiding us then we will soon have an end to our self fighting followed by a new foe to focus our rage against. I guess Halo 6 might be the Battle of Sunion… atleast there will be a -Yoink- intro theme.
I know many of you won’t like this post for obvious reason and I’m ready for any kind of hate for it and my ideals. It hopefully won’t prevent me from being there to help when this foe shows it’s face.
Later.

pretty sure I didn’t cry for microtransactions, they would’ve been in the game anyways, not because of you and me. It’s still a business, and 343 makes good money with the req system.
restricted forge mode (you have to jump through hurdles to find community maps)?
restricted coop campaign (invite only)?
slow rewards in req packs, endless grinding to gain rewards promotes farming and spawn killing?
we now have to adjust aiming sensitivity in order to shoot straight?
less maps?
can’t play as covenant elites?
still waiting for firefight?
Somehow I find it hard to believe the community is the blame for a shallow game, and “yes, we are innocent” unless you are a spawn killing farmer.
Improving the requests from this list requires the devs to work more in order to produce a better game. What makes you think the community is at fault for this?
I believe its a mixture, Halo will never recover unless.
Microsoft give 343 more freedom to do what is required for the franchise to succeed. - 343 listen to the fans more, communicate more with us and implement our ideas at a faster rate. - The community learns to accept some small amounts of change and not be so toxic and hostile every once and awhile.
