im sure you’ve noticed by now that there always tends to be some trending complaint about pointless stuff like the way something looks or sounds, but it seems that the new one rolling in is 343 industries them self. some people have finally had enough of the crap that people have been screaming about. and honestly i think the worst of it is people complaining about the stuff that they’ve been begging for. people are whining about how 343 doesn’t listen to us when clearly they are. now i’ve had my fair share of complaints, but this is starting to get out of hand.
this isn’t some rant about how negative the community is, i am legitimately concerned about this franchise and the community that follows it because so many of us decide to beat away at 343 for trying to appeal to every one. obviously there have been changes to the halo franchise but that is only because they are trying to keep up with the rest of the franchises which seems to be upsetting many people. you can go crying about bungie all you want but go look at destiny, bungie doesn’t seem to be doing any better than we are. halo still has only changed because other people wanted it to.
343 has been working hard to bring us a fun game and all any body wants to do is smash it into the wall and light it on fire. in fact ive noticed that we are acting like the rest of the spoiled unhappy and unintelligent little brats in the world who want what want their way right then and there. i’ve always liked the halo community because it was different and wasn’t like all of the low lives that destroying every society on the plan it, but now we’ve become Halo: Community Devolved. yes the old games were more fun, yes halo 5 has bugs, and yes halo has changed. but we can fix this if we decided to be a supporting happy community like we should be, and provide constructive ideas to 343 instead of the first thing that comes to mind that we think might be cool or yelling at 343 for making a small mistake. 343 is trying to continue the legend that bungie has made for us and want to keep this world alive. bungie clearly stopped caring when they signed with activision, so stop trying to get them back, and even if they did come back it would be just as bad, activision already cut off most of the bungie team any ways, including the one that mattered(Martin O’donnel) so focus on the people who wanted to continue our story and cared about halo enough to stop it from fading away.
go ahead and complain about what ever you want, but don’t kill the greatest franchise that ever lived because of that fact that it’s changing just like every game franchise has done before it and every franchise that comes after it. im not mad that people are complaining about stuff, im mad that people would rather destroy their happy halo memories and the world that i live in, instead of trying to help it grow.
Thank you for making this post! I can seriously agree with this as I defended 343 about an hour ago, again. People should really be giving 343 credit for the good things they do, not just whine like dogs.
I’m not terribly sure how good memories can be destroyed other than mind wiping, but what “new” Halo will do for me is to cease memories being made while playing Halo.
As an old school Halo player, I think 343 has done a horrible job of handling the franchise I knew and love. I say that because of the colossal failures of the Master Chief Collection. I have no qualms with Halo 5 or Halo 4 (I think they’re good, not great games, split-screen out of Halo 5 is a monumental loss), but I do have a major issue with how the MCC was handled.
This was a game that gave 343 the chance to gain a huge following of fans. This was a game that brought back all the old school players and gave Halo another shot at life after the major population drop that Halo 4 experienced. This was a game that was designed to sell systems because of how many people were going to buy it.
It sold the systems all right. It sold the copies too. It also sold the fact that 343 Industries was in over their head.

Good memories are destroyed when you miss use them as a nostalgia weapon against 343.
I agree with you, my friend. That’s what many people should considerate before posting a complaint about the game or 343I…though most of those complainers are either old Halo gamers or COD community members.

pretty much dead on point. It’s also how I feel. I was a kid when I played CE, Halo has been my #1 favorite game franchise…however I have kind of lost interest not because of nostalgia but because it really doesn’t feel like Halo. I still like five but with the population dry up of Halo 4 and then again with Halo MCC and the overall lack of originality and size of maps in 5 I feel that 343i just isn’t fully stepping up to the plate to play ball, they have potential and they have some interesting ideas but I feel they really do need to offer beta stages and take their time with their next title. tell Microsoft to lay off and give them a couple years so we have more content day 1.
things they did pretty well on
- forge (albeit missing day 1 and lacking in forge blocks and controls that most vets were used to it was an interesting leap
- movement controls (I am a little iffy about ADS though, kind of feels weird, I got use to it but evry time I pick up a sniper rifle my bf4 sniper skills just thow me off) if only we had bigger arena maps that weren’t forge based. I would love to see a newly constructed sword base on Reach with a noble monument. think how much movement controls like thrust, ground pound and spartan charge would feel like on a map that size…I think it would be pretty epic, not sure what they have in the works for memories of Reach but if that were a map that they were going for arena then I would have renewed faith in the company.
So am I a horrible person for being concerned and disappointed at the lies 343 told about the campaign and the disrespectful way Frankie responded to people who felt Cortana was handled? You can complain about complaining but ignoring actual problems on 343’s end helps nothing.

exactly. once again on point… there is always going to be some backlash in any community. wheater or not they are just trolling or trying to make a compelling argument just remember that discussion tend to take fruition for a reason…

Adding more to that point, I think that your criticisms of this community are really exaggerated OP.

I have yet to see someone post “I HATE THIS GAME SO MUCH I’M GOING TO SMASH IT AND LIGHT IT ON FIRE!!!” The people who complain here aren’t brats, they’re not saying what they say just for the sake of raising hell. Halo 5 isn’t perfect, and if people didn’t give their criticism here then 343 would have no feedback to base their updates on and we would get nothing.

I agree that they definitely botched the launch of the game, but is it still a major issue for you now? I am just wondering because I was playing it the other day, and ever since about 6 months after launch I have had no issues with the game, I know this is not the case with everyone, but a lot of people bring it up and I am curious about how many people still have issues with it.

It definitely still has plenty of problems, it’s a very choppy game. Keep in mind (and this is the crux of my argument) - this is a year and a half after release. These problems took months to fix, and aren’t even all fixed to this day.
If you’re really excited about something, and then you finally get it (and pay for it using your hard earned money) but then find out that you have to put up with hours of frustration and wait six months until you can actually have it again - how would you feel? I’d feel lied to and betrayed. And then after “most things” work, they abandon the game in its entirety?
What a great company.

Dont steortype by cod and classic. Ive literally grown up with halo. But i know what you mean. Its mostly a conflict between new and classic players and when they cant solve their problems here they blame 343.

The things though is that people arent complaining about problems, theyre mad a simple stuff like weapon skins. And when they do complain about a real problem, 343 trys to fix it and then they get mad about that.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I think having weapon skins is pretty dumb stuff. I don’t know how long it takes to create a fries skin, but I feel like that time could’ve been allocated to deeper content.

I was trying to give you an idea of where things are going with the whole fire thing. I dont think any one is really that mad. But some people here do act like brats. Some where around here someone was screaming at snickerdoodle after she told him to stop telling people not to speak their opinions on his thread.

Thats a good point but many players like my self like to have a bit of options when it comes to what our stuff looks like. It would be nice if we got a custom skin option in h6 but i dont see it happening.
…Good grief

You do realize how patently dishonest you are, right? You’ve got the usual complaints that are just hot air, but do you expect me to believe that concerns over the amount of content in the game with a lack of variety, seemingly repeating exploits in Warzone, seeming continued problems with aiming and playlist concerns (just to name a few) aren’t legitimate? Just because you can ignore the real complaints and focus on the hot air doesn’t mean you are right.

When did they try to fix the server issues or issues that mattered more such as poor spawns, broken ranking systems, farming etc? To me its like 343 is playing whack-a-mole with their problems and are unable to solve a problem without giving birth to a new one. The GoM update is the most recent example of this considering that 343i supplied us with material but ever since, lag problems have increased significantly. In Warzone, there is an increased stream of people quitting more than usual which is likely due to lag problems. I myself was kicked out twice from a game yesterday despite having a proper connection. In addition, I’ve had my screen frozen in some Warzone games as well which was not the case before the GoM update. 343i set themselves up for this kind of backlash and it won’t stop (and neither should it) until 343i fixes the major issues. Its not about being a spoiled brat but rather its about getting a fair service in return for the price we all paid. Nobody’s forcing 343i to make Halo games, so if they feel the community is too hostile, they are free to leave the field and let someone else take over.
You made a post complaining about complaints
