I was craving what I hadn’t experienced in months: Halo 3. I slammed the disk into the tray and launched matchmaking. Looking over the game options, I noticed it said (POPULATION: 14)
Fourt-f*cking-teen!!! WHAT? I’ve seen that number in the hundreds of thousands! How could it possibly have a little over a dozen people on it?
And that’s how almost all playlists were. Under a hundred, with the exception of some. Incredible… I thought this game would never see it’s death, but with the total population only being in the 6000s, I have a feeling we will see, definitely soon, it’s shutdown. A moment I never would have imagined is right around the corner.
Who would have thought that after all those Fat Kid, I Am Legend, and Cops and Robbers games that we would actually see H3 bite the dust? It’s a sad, sad day.
I often get a low pop count too, but I am usually able to find a game. Personally, I am more frustrated that unless you have all the dlc you only have about three playlists to choose from.
The counters are wrong, though the popular is definitely lower than it used to be. It’s hard to get games in quite a few playlists now, but some are pretty much the same as they always were. Social Slayer and Team Slayer still play exactly like they did before, same sort of search times and plenty of different people in each game. You can still get games in Objective, Mythic, Snipers etc but it definitely takes a while longer than it used to. I mostly just warm up in Social Slayer then go into Team Slayer and it feels like Halo 3 is as alive as it ever was.
It fixed and broken like it works some times but not often. One time there was actually 20 people in BTB it was fun facing and teaming up with people for five times since I got bored
I have been playing team doubles recently trying to make it to 5 star general in the playlist(2000 exp) meaning 2000 wins all together. I am currently in the 1800s.
