We also need performance based XP

As it currently exists, you will obtain XP faster if you get a group of friends and lose matches on purpose than to try your best to win.

Without giving performance based XP, no matter how good you do, you will get the same XP as the person who did the worst. This incentivises me to not try and to get the game to end as fast as possible just to get the Complete 1 Match challenge.

Nothing is wrong with giving people’s XP for completing a match. That is actually good as it encourages people to not quit. The challenges giving xp is nice too because if you do something you might not normally do or perform a difficult task then you should be rewarded. But neither of those encourage me to perform well which is where performance based XP should come in.

Every other game I know of has performance based XP and some even have challenges and Complete a Match XP so why can’t Halo? Don’t we want to reward someone if they carry their team and barely win instead of punishing them for taking more time by trying instead of just losing to get the Match complete xp?

The current per match XP is a band-aid fix until 343 changes the XP gain system. I undoubtedly hope they add in performance based XP, but that takes much longer to integrate than just adding a per match XP.
