We all hate Halo 5 Radar

In my humble opinion… Radar Sucks
If I wanted to play a game in which I die every 5 seconds, lacking in strategy, I had bought call of duty. With previous radars you could detect the number of enemies around and make a strategy to defeat them (that was halo, one man army). Now it depends on who sees first. not the skill of the player. Many new players will settle for this gam

e mode but that only because they didn’t play the first deliveries (halo1,2,3,Reach). It is sad for me to realize halo died with noble 6. If you have doubts I’ve been playing Halo Multiplayer since Halo 1.

I don’t really care what the radar range is, I just want the range to be consistent through all the different game modes and campaign. Please bump it up to 25 meters to be consistent with warzone. Or don’t, since nobody at 343 would actually take a thread with the title “We All Hate…” seriously.

yh the radar sucks as hell

This is such an original thread.

The radar for this game is actually fine. This game makes you concentrate more on your view rather than looking at your radar the entire game.

Radar needs to be fixed.

Yeah I love it to be honest.

Radar is good where it is. It promotes movement around the map and not just camping in a corner waiting for a dot on your radar to walk in front of you. Put your head on a swivel and move! 343 made an excellent game, do not ruin it with these stupid hating on everything thread!

A radar that cant warn you theres an enemy in the same room as you isnt very usefull.

I think I actually like it. I used to spend 50% of my time watching the radar in previous Halos, now a quick glimpse every now and then is enough

I agree about the radar being completely useless. 343’s reasoning behind the change makes absolutely no sense. The range gives the player no time to react when someone is close and most of the weapons range are above the radar threshold, making reaction impossible. It’s basically who sees who first making Halo a game of luck rather than skill. The radar needs to match the speed of the game and it doesn’t do it. 343 made a great game and ruined it with the radar. The radar also doesn’t work when you clamber. It doesn’t work when you run, walk, or shoot with invisibility, or jump without sprinting first.

no

I like the new radar. Less of a crutch than in the past. It allows some stealth to be used as well. Also, the word “skill” is thrown around way too often in gaming. Either radar style would require a skillset in how you utilize them. However, quicker reaction, trigger time. accuracy, and decision making in either case would be the determinant of “skill.” However, this is a term that should be used loosely as it is a game and not actual shooting and is also impacted by internet connection. Not to mention, most people playing this game probably would have a hard time jogging let alone running and shooting.

Also It is F&%$ confusing because you don’t know if the enemy is above or below you.

If they are not on the same level as you their dot is slightly faded. If they are on the same level as you it is solid colored.

You’re speaking for the community as a whole, and not everyone hates the Radar. I do, but not everyone.

The name for this doesn’t fit, since some people disagree with the radar being bad.

Radar is a crutch in Halo and always has been. Skilled players wanted it removed, while lesser-skilled players wanted it to stay, so they compromised with a reduced radar radius. Personally I want it gone completely, but what can you do.

The fact that there are tons of threads about it should be a sign that it needs to be fixed.

343- “Hey, let’s put sprint in the game again, decrease time to kill to ridiculously fast and shorten the radar. Oh and make sure the maximum turn speed is REALLY slow on top of the massive deadzones that we want in the aiming system.”
Actual Halo Fans- “No, please don’t.”
343- “What was that? I can’t hear you over the sound of all the money the parents of Cod fans just gave us.”
343 Fanboys/12yo Cod Fans- “Yeah, shut up! Only OUR opinions matter. It’s our money they want. So what if Halo 4 was the only Halo we’ve played? We know ALL about how Halo should be made. You don’t know anything, nerd.”
Actual Halo Fans- tears up tries to play MCC game crashes agains cries deeply in despair
