This is just a couple of ideas for firefight to make it a lot more fun and to bring the flood into it. These aren’t my ideas an I’m not the original creator. I saw this on halo lives on and decided to share on here. If you have any more to add to this feel free.
How the Flood should be implemented into Firefight and what else should be added to it.
First off, we should have a gamemode of Firefight called, “Outbreak” where it is just straight up Flood that you’re fighting.
There should also be another gamemode called “The Great Schism” where you’ll randomly face each enemy faction in the series each passing wave. So one wave might be Banished, the next Flood, then Sentinels, Sentinel Enforcers with Prometheans, or Insurrectionists etc.
We should also be able to go in and mess with the game settings like we could back in Reach to make some unique game modes. AND make our own Firefight maps to add to that with the ability to add in some little objectives for any objective based Firefight games or to act as bonus objectives.
These little bonus objectives shouldn’t mandatory to complete, but should reward the player for completing and punish them for not completeing to compell them to try and complete them or risk facing the consequences. Like maybe one round you’ll need to defend a generator from the enemy to get a vehicle or an immediate weapon drop, or capture a “territory” before the enemy do to spawn a defense turret but if the enemy captures it they’ll get a defense turret which will add to the difficulty of surviving.
There should also be little “dynamic” features in the map for players to interact and help them control the flow of enemies to survive. Like maybe pressing a button to close the blast door gate like Halo 3’s high ground, forcing most enemies to find a way around it, or maybe open an Air Lock to suck out all the enemies in that room into space and leaving a Zero-Gravity environment behind.
This should make some -Yoink- Firefight games.
