Waypoint's importance with feedback

Do you believe that 343 uses these forums to find and respond to feedback about Halo Infinite?

  • Pays attention to feedback
  • Ignores waypoint forums feedback

Based on the severe lack of organization, and hundreds of duplicate posts, I imagine it’s very difficult, if not demotivating, to try to sort through this ocean of feedback.

343 has a small handful of moderator monitors floating around the forums. You can more or less tell they skim read posts, and some employees are actually pretty cool, and will reply to topics, agreeing with some points, and putting their own dislikes and negative feedback from their perspective.

I really like when the staff pops into topics and gives their personal input, because even if they aren’t speaking for the higher ups making the decisions, it lets us feel like there are some real human people in the machine, also disliking the system.

I also appreciate when mods don’t lock topics with overwhelmingly negative feedback, because it bears fruit for bigger debates and more opinions. I really hate seeing topics locked for things people are genuinely serious about wanting in the game, or disliking about the game.

That being said, no, I don’t believe the people higher up in charge of the game read or care about feedback on the forums. There might be some notes taken here and there about very hot topics, but the general feedback will be ignored.

If 343 cared about player opinions, Infinite would be an entirely different experience in the first place. They intentionally took away tons of things we loved, and added tons of things people hate about modern games. There was no QA testing or internal feedback from devs saying ā€œI don’t think that’s a good idea. Players won’t like that.ā€ If there was, it only furthers my point that the higher ups vetoed it, and went along with the bad decisions anyway

That is why if you ā€˜vote’ on the polls I posted, it should get back to them, and they should be able to see numbers as to what they should add in.

Also, Hey Com~, I know you’re cyberstalking me. <3

Yeah, a really detailed and organized collection of feedback, with a clear feedback poll, probably helps.

Something like:

GIST OF FEEDBACK

  • Summary of topic

With a voting poll

  • Agree
  • Disagree

0 voters

This would save so much sorting and reading, since quoted topics can hit the ^ v button to show the entire topic, and then also have a clear list of numbers (Even though the forum population is so small and not very active anymore)

More importantly, I’d like to see this type of summary topic PINNED AND POSTED BY A 343 EMPLOYEE, SO WE KNOW THEY’RE ACTUALLY READING STUFF

Yes very much just want some interaction that shows they are searching for feedback and it does not mean they will act on stuff, but maybe having a weekly or even monthly pinned forum that shows feedback that has been mentioned around the most.

I definitely thing the forums, indeed a great many official game forums, are in a catch-22 position: people get angry with the devs because they don’t respond, and devs don’t respond because people are getting angry. I agree with @xXx_Mhx_Air_xXx’s assessment of it being demotivating. You couldn’t pay me to work for 343i and read some of the comments I’ve made, and I’m more snide than name-calling.

Honestly, if the devs considered this place a lost cause I’d fully understand. I was a Most Valued Poster of the EU Blizzard forums, and the amount of times I’d been tempted to quit that programme over some of the comments me and my fellow ā€˜greens’ got was innumerable. That said, I was offered the opportunity to volunteer, not someone whose paid job description will likely say ā€œread and respond to threads.ā€

Anyway I voted that they ignore feedback. I wholeheartedly appreciate why they don’t bother reading threads when one of the moderators has to put up with constant slander, but they still need to make an effort to respond to community concerns because that is their responsibility. I do however think that the calibre of feedback needs to increase greatly, instead of subtweeting and and letting comparisons to older instalments reduce to circlejerking.

They just provide this forum as a place for gamers to chat.

I don’t think they read it for feedback.

I think they use Reddit, game articles and YouTubers for that.

I’m glad they’ve started posting updates on here though.

I think these should be recorded.
It’s just that everyone always has a friendly discussion here. The forum provided by the game producer must be harmonious and the easiest to control.
The response is always prepared for sharp public criticism. My friends think the evaluation on reddit is more critical.

It takes me a couple of mins to read through a bulk of the posts that are in the top. It’s really not that serious.

If I had a job to read this waypoint I would be an expert because of how easy it is.

The truth is 343 doesn’t pay attention
