I would suggest the scuf instinct pro. The triggers are by far the best in the biz and so far mine has held up really well.
Also for me overall its definitely CE as its my all time favorite game. Was my first game ever when i was 5 and its still the best.
Halo 2 has a more interesting narrative but CE has that air of mystery to it. CE deserved an anniversary like H2A. H2A is the gold standard for anniversaries.
3 is probably the best combined MP and Campaign experience out there.
I would really accept anyone’s answer if its one of these 3. Outside of that i guess people are entitled to their wrong opinions. (Also this is sarcasm but not really sarcasm).

I end up reaching my peak in each game usually a month or so before moving on to the next one, which is when I get matches with stuff like 30 kills and 2 deaths per match. Or in Halo 5’s case, over 100 kills every Mythic Warzone Firefight match.
I definitely was at my best in Halo 4 by a long shot compared to other Halo games. I felt so unstoppable. I have a few clips from MCC of me killing entire teams by myself in Halo 4.
I was and still am terrible at Halo 3. Maybe because of the slower bullets.

Halo 3’s campaign may not have made much story sense at times, and if your looking for the best story you should really go play Halo 2. But my goodness was 3’s campaign fun! It had just the right balance of everything, and its Flood were the best they’ve ever been, in spite of Cortana.
Tack on the only co-op to ever let you play as other caracters who are actually interesting, one of the most recognizable multiplayers in gaming history with that glorious four screen split co-op and you have an incredible party game to boot. I wasn’t even there for its first days of glory, for the most part I’m talking from my experience with the MCC. 3 was still the first Halo I ever played though, and later it was the first one I ever owned. I just have way to many memories with this game to vote anything else, altough nearly every other game on that list is phenomenal.

I mean realistically what I was expecting was Halo 3 followed by Halo 5 followed by Halo infinite followed by Halo Reach or Halo 2 and then everything else after that.

Potential hot take - CE falling where it does makes sense. CE - while the singular most important Halo game as the progenitor of the Halo universe - was the first go at the formula. Halo 2, 3, ODST, Reach, 4, 5, and Infinite all built upon that base and expanded upon what worked and changed things that didn’t. Thus, it leaves CE in an awkward position - it’s extremely important to the franchise and a great game in its own right, but the subsequent games have all gone bigger and better in many areas.

Another thing 5 is by far one of the best movement shooters of all time. Yes the campaign was questionable but Halo 5’s movement was the best gaming has seen in years. Also forge was so inventive and amazing. So I can see why Halo 5 is so high.

That ain’t no hot take that’s just accurate. I have fond memories of playing Halo CE, but that game is very rough around the edges specifically the vehicle edges. It created the standard for first person shooters on consoles and was the first step forward. But as many know the first step forward is not always the prettiest or the best. It will always be good because it was a step in the right direction.

Watching Shotzy break H5’s mechanics live on HCS broadcasts was something you rarely get to see in any sport, not just in eSports

He was so far ahead of everyone else that it was crazy, and literally changed the way H5 played moving forward as everyone tried to learn his tech.
I completely agree. H5’s take on the movement shooter genre was unparalleled, and the only thing that held it back was being tied to a console that basically failed before launch

As time has gone on, this is kind of where I’ve settled too tbh. Depending on the day I might switch the two though. I have CE as my favorite campaign, but H3 and H5 have been my favorite multiplayer titles by far. They’re just endlessly replayable.
Again, I don’t really think CEA and CE PC are fair ones to use as a frame of reference for CE overall, since both are the same infamous Gearbox port, and the former was stripped back significantly before its release in MCC (of which most folks typically count MCC as its own game.)

Reach is my favorite campaign
3 has my overall favorite multiplayer experience
Reach has best campaign with an amazing multiplayer second to H3 for me. The campaign incorporating your multiplayer Spartan just pushes the whole package over the top for me. Halo 3 would have probably been my all-time favorite had it not been for that one small difference.

ODST was really underrated. I really enjoyed playing as someone other than a spartan. The only thing that kinda sucks is ODST is the easiest to complete on legendary even though on paper since you have no shield regen it should be the hardest.

I didn’t really find ODST that easy to complete on legendary. I usually played normal or heroic so I don’t really have that much of a reference. Freaking had the best soundtrack hands down.

5’s biggest problem in my opinion is that its so radical compared to the other mainline Halos that it would have been better received by everyone if it was a spinoff like Reach or ODST
