There were instructions handed out & in the forums whilst the flight was active (if you were part of it).
Really depends on your device too, IOS seems much easier than Androids from what I’ve heard.
As the flight is now over, this is now inaccessible.
You would go to your avatar Icon and select the Halo Insider tab from the column. When the new page displays, go down to My Flights. All flights that you were invited to will be listed. If it doesnt show then you were not invited. That said, the flight ended August 2nd so unfortunately you wont get in regardless. Hopefully this info will help you out in further flights.
The way it worked for Android was you had to download the halo channel then in the Google play store where you downloaded the app you had to opt in for the beta version which was under the area where you could download the app. Unfortunately it is all closed as of the end of the flight. I’m sure if you get invited to the next flight the waypoint app would be available to download again.
Those flights have ended as well, so unfortunately you’ll have to wait until/if the new flights open up for it.
