Hey guys, the most recent post i’ve seen about the inability to actually view and download films
in your halo waypoint fileshare is like 6 months old and closed. So i’m making a new post with
the hopes that 343 will maybe notice this time, also this way I can weigh in with my opinions
since the last post is now closed as I mentioned.

Here are some reasons why this would be beneficial :

[/li]- Allows players to more easily create montage videos showing off their skills.

  • Allows players to send emails or create useable links to their videos for things like facebook
    and twitter.
  • Allows players to submit their videos to third party companies like Achievement Hunter
    without having to buy extra equipment to go around a theatre system that was originally made
    to prevent that from being an issue in the first place.
  • Allows players to view and edit footage uploaded by friends, family, or pro gamers they are
    enjoy watching (sounds lame but i’d watch Ninja’s videos on waypoint any day of the week)
  • Allows forgers/gametype creators to more easily showcase their inventions.
  • Gives waypoint the functionality that it deserves. It sounds obvious but if your site has a
    function that lets you see every video you have uploaded, but doesn’t let you watch any of them,
    your site essentially has a function that doesn’t have any function… in a sense.

I just feel like if you guys would fix this it would open the flood gates for Halo 4 a little bit.
Competitive players that moved on to new games would have a reason to come back, and creative
players that like to show off their forging or game type creation skills would finally be able to
showcase their creations without needing to spend tons of extra money on equipment. I’m sure
the issue isn’t as simple as we all think it is, otherwise you would have just done it by now, but
I would even be willing to pay like a small monthly or yearly fee to have the service available, if
that’s what it would take to get it going.

In all, it’s just really irritating to go online and see the videos all right there, with play
buttons and everything, but not be able to watch a single one of them. If you see this 343, please
don’t ignore it! I love Halo, i’ve been playing since the release of Combat Evolved back when the
xbox still had those enormous clunky “American” controllers, and i’ve purchased and played every
game since. Hopefully my words mean enough to you to get the ball rolling on this if it isn’t already.

Giving the community the option to render video would bring the Competitive types back? Uhh, pretty sure the Weapon Tuning Update’s already doing that for tomorrow OP. :confused:

In any case, I don’t see this happening. Maybe with the next Halo game, but with Halo 4 I’m pretty sure that ship has sailed.

That being said, I’ve noticed a couple of people wanting their videos rendered and such on the Forums lately. I own an Elgato HD Capture Card for my Machinima content and depending on what people ask for I may set up a little forum exclusive render service.

It’s not exactly what you were hoping for, but at least it’s something I suppose. I remember someone posted something similar a while ago but he hasn’t updated it in around a year or been seen since. Maybe that’s just me, I dunno.

Anyway, I’m rambling. Bleh.

I doubt rendering service will ever come as it’s been 8 months since Halo 4 released.

It’s actually only just gone over 6 months since release.
