As explained by Exenius and others in this thread, the current method for submitting screenshots appears to be quite unfair and one-sided, as the people who use Twitter have a far greater chance of their shots being seen and featured than those without it.
To my knowledge, no screenshots from Waypoint have been featured since the #HaloHotShots was set up. In contrast, Twitter users have been featured almost exclusively, and the same artists often get featured multiple times. Although the multiple features are usually a result of the quality work they produce, there may have been occasions where it was due to a lack of new artists to choose from(the same artists post shots weekly).
Therefore, I’d be like to try to “bridge the gap” between Waypoint and Twitter by tweeting your screenshots and other content out to 343 via my Twitter.
I’ve tested this with another poster(Tsxki) and it did result in some slight success. The shot received a respectable amount of activity and was liked by ske7ch.
There’s two ways that I could do it:
- Tweet 4 shots from the same person - Tweet 4 shots from 4 different people (which I’d prefer to do)I’d like to have a collection of shots ready to tweet on Wednesday/Thursday evenings, as that is the best time to send them IME.
As changes regarding frequency of the CU’s are currently being discussed: “We’re having some discussions internally but I think we’re going to shift away from a weekly cadence - not exactly sure what that looks like yet but we’re working through it.” -Ske7ch
I’ll try to confirm beforehand if an update is planned before tweeting your shots out.
Just post the Xbox DVR link to your shots and I’ll send them to #HaloHotShots.
Note: I’d recommend titling your screenshots to help describe what the image is about.
Understandably, the screenshots must be of decent quality and not be edited(exceptions can made). Originality is important.
