Waypoint overhaul concerns

When I read the Radar Blips section within the Happy Halodays Community Update leading up to Xmas (2019) I discovered that 343i intended to overhaul Waypoint. One of the things that concerned me was this statement:

> We did want to provide a heads up that there may be features of the existing site that don’t transition over to the new one. That means if there are any forum posts, stats pages, or Community Updates () that you wouldn’t want to get lost to the ether, we’d encourage you to start thinking about saving them for your own records just in case.

Is it a near guarantee that the Community Updates since the beginning of this site could potentially get wiped out?

Also, there are many forum posts that I continue to follow because of the information contained within them from members or from 343i employees like Josh Menke. Is it a pretty sure bet that those go away too?

Based on the comment above it sure sounds like there’s a good chance they will. Is there a recommended method to save that information?

Any chance you guys could collaborate with a site like Halo.Bungie.org to ensure a good amount of the information at risk is historically retained?

I sure hope that you guys figure out a way to retain most of the information one way or another. I recall being sad about the last big Waypoint overhaul that caused many of the forum posts I had written, or that I was following, from the early days of Waypoint to get lost to the ether. Not looking forward to that happening again.

I share the same concerns, with the exact same mention of halo.bungie.org lol - unfortunately I did not receive a response. Hopefully this thread does!

Posting on Halo forums has been a pastime of mine for the better part of 15 years, and with Bungie.net and the old Halo Bulletins being archived on HBO, I hope the Halo Community Updates are too.
