Can’t say I’ve been on the waypoint forums long but I’ve been given some good advice and improved my HW gameplay with it.
I’ve seen alot recently of arguing and moaning about other players. We all play the same game, a lot of us probably use similar or the same tactics. So why all this arguing? I was put in a party with a General rank recently who laughed and didn’t want to play with be because I was a recruit rank, why this mattered so much I dunno but in a captain at the moment and using the tips ive received off here from ppl in beating Generals/Majors. So to me rank isn’t everything.
just wanna start seeing ppl discussion tactics and the game instead of hatin on each other and going completely off topic from the OP’S.

but to be serious there are less than 20 high level players, and then less than 100 bottom of the barrel high-levels(mediocre players). maybe around 500 players that are near high level and maybe around 2000 mid-level players. everyone else is low-level.
mid-level players and below probably don’t know that waypoint has a halo wars forum, and they certainly won’t know of the existence of Lazyfrog. most of the mediocre and high-level players don’t like newer players but they hate each other more, mainly because all the high-levels that were innovative and meta changing left years ago; so now there isn’t anything to do other than fight themselves. no one has come up with a new strat in ages, and the only recent development in the meta is double arby anders in 3v3 teams, and as no one innovative remains no one has come up with a good strat to beat the combo other than to mirror it or play brute arby anders.
Fair play man. I really enjoyed the games that night I had with you and King. We should get some more now I’ve gone arby. Won’t be 2 prophets lol!
People don’t like LF because 90% of threads are OT/flame wars
People don’t like waypoint because (almost) everybody here sucks at the game, can’t push off a brute rush, or canister an arbiter.

The reason you should stay away from LF is because of the nature of the HW community. Honestly, I never had any idea how terrible the people were on HW until I stopped playing and switched games (afraid I’ll get reprimanded for advertising another game here, so I’ll skip that).
The biggest thing keeping me away from HW is the attitude of it’s players. WP is where you all might be able to change that a little. The game I dropped HW for has a community that respects it’s HL players and almost idolizes the best teams and I’d like to see something similar from this game’s community too. It might make me want to play it again. If you turn something into a flame war on that game, you’ll lose you’re place in the community, but in HW, it’s expected.

The lower level players used to idolize the high level players back in the days of iechoic and prince(maybe iechoic isn’t the best example, he was a cry baby), but when those guys left and the new generation of grinder moved in the people beneath them felt cheated and have always resented them and that same trend continues. As for the double anders arby in 3’s, that’s not as new as you might think, it was common until hogs were nerfed and then people shied away from it. There’s a bunch of us that always go gauss mainly because it is more versatile on most maps, if you’re good enough. Heartbreak Nate and bb2010 have some old vids with juicebox where gauss outmaneuvers tanks. Gauss is something that has been done and is done, it just took till now to finally be accepted. That’s the meta buddy yolo…

A little history:
When halo wars forums were merged with the halo waypoint forums, some people decided to go to Lazy Frog and all, but hey, the fight should be here! Now more and more come here! So that’s good.
If this get locked, I believe it will say something along the lines of, not wanting to flame or [compare] other communities.
I wonder what Paragon, Cocopjojo or even Lethe would do.
I think this thread will eventually add more fuel to the fire.

Your halowars history is horrible. But everything else about right. This game flopped competitively when the Summer GB 2010 season ended which coincided with SC2 and Halo Reach being released not to mention a COD. Since then the game has had mini revivals but just can’t quite get it back.
Now you have the same 3 teams with love hate relationships grinding out a strat outdated in 2009 and nobody innovative enough active to counter it.

Anders/double arby is the best matchmaking combo, and always will be. I and the people I play have been playing the game long enough to know that with people grinding hundreds of games a month, the state of the game is not going backwards.
those high level players that just wanna hate need to sort it out and have some kind of tournament. Who’d organise that it is up to them but maybe that’d calm a lot of this hate.
@Legskindal - as for leaving for other games, I own and play ALL the halo games. I love them all. Never gone into any of the other forums on here yet for them though. The only reason I started on this one was for tips on playing because I knew the only remaining players on here would be A) Good and B) have respect for the game.
And as for putting fuel on the fire I don’t think so. This topics been up for a good few hours now and nothing bad has been started or anybody flamed.
