Waypoint iOS--Some of my issues

I have many complaints with the iOS app for Waypoint, but I figure I should only point out what I think can easily be fixed.

First and foremost, why is the text for my rank so large? My gamertag should be equal to the largest thing on the screen, not my rank. Just look at the web Waypoint service record for inspiration. Make the credit amounts text larger. It’s tiny.

I also don’t care about my BPR. It’s the largest text on the screen. If you’re going to make something big, showcase my custom emblem that I love.

Secondly, the friends list has some issue with me that are technical. Whenever I drag my finger down, the shadowing effect at the top and bottom of the list has to pop on and off. It’s really distracting when I’m scrolling through. Also, I wouldn’t mind just being able to read what their activity is, not just see a game tile. Other than those issues, I find the friends list to look nice.

The game history page has a lot of problems. The gametype graphic is way too large, first of all. I’d rather see a thumbnail for the map it’s on. Also, I’d like to see the actual TIME the game was played, not just the date. I realize this is an issue for the website too. It’s worth noting that the shadowing effect that’s an issue for the friends list doesn’t happen as notably on the game history list.

Now, ATLAS. I don’t have any problems with how it performs anymore. My only complaint is that you decided to add a little satellite graphic to the top left of each map picture for some reason unbeknownst to me. I realize this represents it’s because it’s leading to a “satellite” view of the map. But if the graphic is on each picture, it loses it value. It’s pointless.

Finally, when I open up “Waypoint” to check out the site, why is there no link to the Forums? Everything else has a spot at the top of the banner and I couldn’t care less about anything but the Forums. I just have to use Safari to get to there, and I don’t like to because I’m not always signed in automatically.

I commend your designers for only putting “Waypoint” at the top of the app and realizing the redundancy of labeling everything with Halo before it.

Also, I thought that the “Halo Waypoint” logo that pops up when I start the app always looked stretched, so I checked it out. And yes, it is stretched. What’s up with that?

Satellite graphic in the map list means that the map works with ATLAS real time data. If it doesn’t have the graphic, there’s no real time data available for it.

Thank you for pointing that out, I’m glad to see they added Forums to the bottom of that list.

Every multiplayer map has the satellite graphic… Firefight maps don’t, but then why would they need to be there if there’s no real time data? There’s no weapon spawns or teammates to see so I don’t see the point. It would make more since to put a graphic for no real time data…

The forums are located under the Community tab on the App.

ATLAS isn’t just about the real time data. You can also look at maps anytime, whether or not you are in a game. The firefight maps are in the list so that you can still at least look at the map, study it, etc.

I know, but there’s nothing to study… There are no weapon spawns unless you’re in a real-time game. There’s maybe a vehicle or health pack. I just don’t think it’s a good design decision to have that graphic. It wasn’t there in the first iteration of ATLAS.
