General question: Who are these people how do they become “Guests”

Recently started posting more and more and looking to get active on the website again. Noticed these accounts but unlike the forum ranks page where usually banned are discharged members they are maybe not? I don’t see an option to leave the website. I hypothesized that maybe this is privacy settings?
But don’t know so I’m asking.

As far as I’m aware guest were something that was done away with when the site started using microsoft log-ins exclusively. People will occasionally be mislabeled as guests when the microsoft sign-in system is having issues.

Thanks for the response. That must’ve been ages ago I couldn’t imagine this site without that SSO functionality.
