I have read through a number of the hundreds of posts here on waypoint and they scare me. I see a tendency of people saying the same thing repeated times. Now there are a lot of ideas that I think are really cool and could help halo gameplay. Now onto what scares me. I continuously see posts on how people hate armor abilities and how they wreck gameplay among many other things but this tends to be the most popular. I keep seeing how people have problems with gameplay and all I see if these comments coming true is a mix between halo 3 with the very simple gameplay of run at each other and whoever has the most shields left wins, and call of duty, which I am sure that at least half of the people on the forums are casual players who switch between halo and cod at the flip of a coin. These people are the ones wanting to drastically changes halo into a halo 3/cod game. Now I have considered the points that people make and I have discussed them with my friends who are both good forgers and players. So they and me know what we are talking about. Halo Reach’s gameplay is fine. Now with as any game there are always things that can be fine tuned to create better gameplay but not in the sense that people are asking for. I personally like what bungie did in creating a completely different type of game while still making halo. People are complaining that the game is messed up and it needs to be fixed. There wrong, I am sorry but that’s the truth. This post is oriented towards 343 industries. So for whatever employee reading this here is what I want you to understand and I hope you have the company understand this if you don’t already. take everything posted on this forum with a grain of salt. You don’t need to follow everything that is said here. make your own game and listen to people who are true halo fans wjo know what a good halo game is, don’t ruin halo for the people like me so that you can appease the people who care nothing for a true game of halo, not a mix of other games. I hope that this is read and understood. Good luck 343 industries and create an amazing game as I hope you will.

I’ve spread that out for you, next time type in paragraphs so it’s a bit easier to understand.
So essentially anyone that doesn’t agree with your opinion is wrong and shouldn’t be listened to? That’s what I got out of that, and that’s pretty unfair. You are no more right than someone else that thinks you are wrong.
Edit: That’s not to say I want the next halo to be an exact replica of Halo 3 or just like CoD, but IMO, I think Reach was a misstep for the halo series.

This could be interpreted so many different ways. All people will claim that they are “true” halo fans. How is 343 supposed to distinguish between them? Take your word for it? No, that’s ridiculous. Despite what you may think, you actually aren’t the spokesman for all Halo fans or even all “true” halo fans.

It’s like trying to explain how water is made up of more than just “water” to a kid. They don’t understand and just see the water as “water”, not as molecules and atoms and therefore don’t understand when others go into more “complex” subjects regarding water. Not your fault though, but just because you don’t understand does not make it any less true.
Regarding what I want from the forums.
At present it’s a lot more moderation. This forum is SO cluttered with posts. Many of which could either be combined with others that are similar or virtually the same, and others could/should be outright deleted.
Also there is just way to much flaming here and it makes for an unpleasant experience. I can’t possibly keep up with all the threads here.
I’d like to see a larger amount of time before one can post again. Some folks are just plain post crazy and many times those posts are more quantitative than qualitative.
- It’s hard to take OP serious with lack of grammatical and simple syntax skills,
- 343i is making the game they want to make, however they listen to the community,

Yes, there is a problem. Which is why it was edited out.
No one person should be singled out because of the amount of kills they can garner. Nor should they be discriminated against because they’ve only played half the games, and read 2 of the books. Everyone here is equal, with no one being better than another.

It doesn’t excuse the fact stat flaming is against the rules which you are doing, can I simplify this any more for you?

really? i have to say i’m surprised you feel that way because quite honestly, with the exception of a few posters, i haven’t noticed much flaming at all. what do you consider flaming?

i agree and disagree with this one. i see what you’re saying but it doesn’t really work that way, those that want to spam and post incessantly will do so regardless of a post delay. and on the other hand, it’ll slow down people like me when i’m trying to respond to multiple threads at once.

Saying he’s opinion is the only correct one because he’s a good player (which implies everyone here is a bad one) is practically trolling everyone here, derp. This thread should really be locked. He’s also calling a lot of people here not “true Halo fans”.
And I never said I was somehow exempt from the rules just because an OP does something, but what’s dodgy is that I feel the wrath but the OP doesn’t.

if the OP feels he’s a good player, he’s allowed to say so because that is a very generic statement and doesn’t dig into everyone else’s stats.
you have no barometer with which to measure “good” because he did give you one, just generally stated he’s “good.” that can mean a whole host of different things.
the mods are not being “dodgy” because there’s nothing dodgy about the OP - except for the lack of paragraphs. :S
