Just got an update on the console for Waypoint and now it will not launch Waypoint unless I turn my Kinect Sensor on.
I hope this is a glitch, cause I don’t wanna have to turn on the Kinect Sensor just to open up Waypoint.
is Anybody else having this issue?

Yes, the sensor is connected.in the kinect sensor settings I have the sensor turned off. I only turn it on when I am going to play a kinect game. and the new update to waypoint makes me turn it on before waypoint will launch.

Did you have a kinect hooked up when you downloaded the update?
Waypoint currently detects the presence of a sensor. For now, yes - you will need to turn on the Sensor in order to start Waypoint.

I don’t own a Kinect.
This doesn’t happen to me, but ever since the update yesterday, I have to relaunch Waypoint because it says I need to update again.

I noticed that also. and when I went to “my games” It shows 2 waypoints. so I deleted both and re-downloaded waypoint and it fixed that issue. also, it only shows 1 waypoint in the “my games” section now.

I wasn’t sure if it was ment to do that or if my setup was messed up. anyways’ I for one do not wanna have to turn on my kinect to use waypoint. it’s so much faster to use the controller to navigate waypoint. looks like I will just use waypoint on the phone for the custom challenges I setup almost daily.
I hope they fix this and it works like all the other apps on the console that have kinect intergration, where you don’t need to turn on the kinect or use it for the navigation if you don’t want to.
Kinect is not required for navigation, controller and remote control still work just fine - we just now gave you the option of using voice and gesture if you like.

Could an update be issued to allow us to dismiss the Kinect? Because requiring the Kinect sensor to be on in order to start Waypoint doesn’t seem ‘optional’ to me. 
I used to use Waypoint a lot, since the new update I no longer want too, I have a Kinect but only my fiancee uses it for games, I personally don’t like it and until it can become an option NOT to have it when opening Waypoint I will not be on it on with my 360, I don’t understand why it would not be made a choice, I’m sure there are plenty of people who would just prefer to have their app. open without requiring a Kinect to be on, seems like a crappy idea to make it required when not everyone uses their Kinect.
I am in a worse position. I can’t get into waypoint without it asking me to keep redownloading the application. When I am lucky enough to not have to do that, it can’t find my milestone and Halo Reach rank. I don’t know if this is all because I changed my gamer tag or its just waypoint being a pain.
Does it still require you turn on the kinect sensor when it is unplugged from the Xbox 360 console? If so, just do that for now.
AGG groCRAG, I would try to clear the system cache, delete all the Waypoint things from the hard drive then try to re-download the app, if that doesnt work I’m out of ideas, awhile back I had the same issue just not when changing my gamertag, the app was downloaded twice and wouldn’t run right, I did the steps I said above and it fixed it.
I also have my Kinect turned off because I don’t use it that much and it gets pretty hot even if you don’t use it.
Unplugging Kinect would probably work but I don’t want to do it.
Please fix that.
