How do I sign me and my team up?
Check the link in the OP. Only takes one person to do so, just make sure you use their CORRECT gamertags.
I just signed up and got told to print a ticket, do I need this?
No you dont, thats just part of the ticketing site I use which is more for in person events. I like it because it keeps all the data in a handy spreadsheet
I’ve never played in an online tournament, what happens on the day?
Brackets will be released closer to the time. This will show you the team you play against first. Just invite them into a custom lobby, you run a 2/3 minute lag test, then you proceed with the gametypes.
I’ve signed up, what now?
Practice! Brackets will be emailed/posted on the forums a few days before the event.
I’d like to practice the settings more, how would I do this?
Add the gametag GOLD PRO CUSTOM. Once added, view the gamertags friends list, this acts as a directory for other players like you. You can download the gametypes from my gamertag D0JU

Why do you want me to save my gameplay in the final?
Im trying to make some good Halo content. Having your gameplay allows me to make a TV style production with multiple POV’s, casters, and fancy graphics.
How long will all this last?
If you are good, 4/5 hours. If you are bad, 45 minutes.

What is GoldPRO?
GoldPRO started in Halo Reach after the no bloom title update as a collection of some of the competitive Halo players that wanted Halo Reach to achieve its maximum potential as the options laid out for us were quite good. In Halo 4 GoldPRO seeks to find the most competitive settings that HALO 4 has to offer without changing the game. Basically, maximizing skill, minimizing randomness, maintaining fast game pace even at the highest level of play, while maintaining the fun that Halo has always brought to the table and highlighting new and competitive features as well.
Why is the DMR in every loadout?
The DMR is the most effective utility rifle in the game. It has been agreed upon by most that not loading out with one puts you at a disadvantage. In the spirit of fair gameplay every player starts with the DMR regardless of preference for other rifles.
Why other rifles as secondary?
While the DMR is king the other rifles do serve a purpose. Players can choose what backup rifle they prefer. This also serves to provide extra ammo.
Why thruster pack starts?
The thruster pack is a movement option that adds dynamic movement options and when mastered allows you to transverse the environment and approach combat in a different and move skillful manner. It’s a skill to master and should be highlighted in competitive Halo 4.
What is better Dexterity or Explosives, why include both?
Both perks have gained popularity in the competitive scene. Explosives make’s grenades more powerful and you more resistant to grenade damage allowing them to better to their job. Dexterity empowers players by allowing them to reload extra fast. Both can be highly beneficial in a competitive scene and players will need to decide for themselves what is better for there playstyle.
Why not use standard weapon drops instead of ordnance, what advantage does it offer?
The waypoints of the Ordnance drops offer the advantage of fairness. Now all players of the game can time the weapon simultaneously. This is a crucial aspect of Halo because it forces players to fight over weapons rather than camp there spawns or sit back because you don’t know what your opponent has.
What is a static spawn and why was it only used for OS?
The OS is on a 1 minute static spawn meaning every single minute at the minute mark an OS will spawn regardless of the time the last OS was picked up. It was used once because the glitch that allows us to create a static spawn can only be used once. OS was chosen as the static spawning item because it benefits most from precision timing due to the invulnerability.
Drop Spawns, weren’t they used in Halo 3 and Reach, why not just use them for everything?
In Halo 4 weapons de-spawn very quickly(about 12s) and when the weapons drop that is how long they are on the map before they disappear. This system isn’t reliable for weapons that are needed to force map movement and break stalemates but for less important items the system works as a reward for intelligent knowledge of the system. The item will spawn at the 10s mark of every minute and de-spawn at the 10s mark. If you are in position the weapon is advantageous to grap.
No Shotgun or Sword?
The automatic utility rifles of this game serve a less overpowering more skillful alternative to add depth to CQC.
What happened to Solace, it’s completely different?
The map is actually more symmetrical East to West than it is North to South. Solace has proven that its geometry promotes stagnant gameplay and the orientation switch as well as the base limits make for a smaller/more competitive arena environment. The mossy base is more opened to create a power position and encourage map flow. I think you’ll find that the new Solace is a big step up from the old and promotes great fast paced gameplay.
