I was happy with what you did with waypoint for Halo Reach, but since Halo 4 came out you think that the app for the apple devices would have been upadated to show stats for Halo 4. Is there plans to update the app to show the stats for Halo 4 or is that just a pipe dream?

It’s only a matter of time before we see something for us in regards to Halo 4 in the Waypoint app for everyone that uses an iOS, Android and WP device.

I sent a tweet about this a while ago and this is what they said…

Me: “is there going to be an update to the waypoint app on iDevices? Or is it redundant now that SGlass has stats?”
Waypoint: “We focused on our mobile experience. You can see it by opening up a browser on your mobile device and going to our website.”
Very informative as you can see…I personally doubt they’re going to do anything with the Waypoint iOS app. The mobile site tells me to bookmark the ‘Halo 4 stats app’ to my springboard on my iPhone.

That’s the most ridiculous sentence I’ve read in a LONG time.
So basically what 343 is REALLY trying to tell us, is that -Yoink!- likely “persuaded” 343 to NOT create an update for the App on iOS, Android, etc, but to integrate the stats into their proprietary App instead. While I don’t see anything wrong with this, especially because Halo 4 is Xbox 360 exclusive, and also because it’s an extremely smart move to get people into Smart Glass, it’s just yet another App taking up space, and for people who just want to view Halo Waypoint and that’s it, it takes more time and effort than simply clicking the Waypoint App Icon.
With all of that said, I think Smart Glass is going to be HUGE, eventually, and so far I love it. To be honest, it’s more or less the same basic foundation of what I’ve wanted to be able to do for years- Xbox Live Mobile Apps just don’t cut it. Also, it’s a convenient way to still provide stats and things for people who continue to play Halo Reach, rather than “forcing them” to get Halo 4, although i don’t know how much longer I expect them to support the App, to be honest.
