I think the iPhone app is pretty cool for people who want stats, and ATLAS is nice for people who are into that. But what about people who simply want Waypoint news from the news feed? I know there’s a way to access the Waypoint homepage when you aren’t signed in to the app, but you can’t access it when you are signed in. And even when you can access it, the browser it comes up in (and the safari browser assuming they are different) is just really not suited for displaying that content. So what I suggest is that you guys should invest in a new section of the app devoted to Waypoint news.
It could be set up in the same way as the homepage currently is, but in a way that works well with the iPhone. The biggest issue I find with using the web browser currently is that you have to scroll not only vertically but also horizontally to read it all. If the text were set to have margins and the pictures were re-sized to fit horizontally on the screen, this would leave only the need to scroll vertically to read the weekly updates and other news. In my opinion, the Joystiq iPhone app is a perfect app to base this new feature off of. As simple of a suggestion as this is, it would make a HUGE difference.
I would also suggest a forums section for the app, but this is good enough for now.
Have you tried accessing the new Waypoint web site from your phone? Just go to http://www.halowaypoint.com. It’s optimized for phones and the iPad, and videos even work without Silverlight, by streaming.
That’s nice for people who have a windows phone, but this suggestion is for those of us who don’t.

It can be accessed yes, but “optimized” is an overstatement. Like I said, the fact that you have to constantly scroll left and right to read everything makes it a pain in the butt to try and read anything on it.

I know, i was just showing you how it would look and that they do currently have those features on some phones, they would just need to move those things over to the other mobile devices.
I am loving that I can view the forums in the iPad app. But its very disappointing to now be able to post/reply. If its only for viewing stats I’d rather view bungie.nets stats page. Same numbers but not as effing ugly and more iPad friendly. The only thing I prefer waypoint for is the forums are much easier to navigate and read… not yet easier on the iPad (that loads slower -Yoink-)but still ok.
