WAY too many vehicles in some new BTB maps

If I wanted to play a game where there are more vehicles on the map than spartans, I would play Warzone. Please, 343, don’t overflow the BTB playlist with vehicles. Valhalla was great, no need to give everyone and their mother their own Warthog.

I really am enjoying the BTB update though, it was for sure long overdue and I’m still enjoying the playlist.

Have you ever played BTB before? Vehicles are the point.

I’ve been playing these games for over a decade, and I still enjoy them. But I don’t think there should be a time where everyone on the map is in a vehicle, unless you fully load up a warthog, two mongooses, and a banshee, which rarely happens. BTB needs a healthy mix of gunfighting and vehicle combat

Dude BTB is 'large-scale, vehicular warfare" It’s suppose to have a ton of vehicles. It’s more of a problem that some of these maps don’t have enough vehicles.

I actually enjoy it the way it is, the more vehicles, the more chaos! And thats always fun haha

No, stop. Please. We only just got good vehicle gameplay back and BTB finally feels fun. My main issue with BTB pre-refresh was that it was too focused on infantry combat. That’s not what BTB is about.

I highly disagree. To me, BTB has always been large-scale vehicle battles. It’s only now, with the BTB refresh, that we finally get vehicles on the same scale as past Halo games. Valhalla is fantastic now that it has the additional vehicles, as are the other maps.

So no, there is not too many vehicles. Not at all.

I’ll admit, some maps are a little much when they have say two hogs, 1-2 mongooses, a ghost, and a few other things per team! I think the only time you need all of these is when it’s maps like Blood Gulch back in the day. Sometimes they could due to lose a hog or mongoose per team sometimes. Like on that new BTB map with the huge crane. Too many hugs and mongooses per team on that map i feel.

Overall I’d say it’s pretty good though.

Seen some abuse with wasps, but no issues anywhere else. Vehicles are supposed to be a thing in BTB

Wish Heavies was a thing though. H4 heavies was pretty dope

There IS such a thing as too much though… I mean, it gets to a point where you’re throwing “balance” right out of the window.

On-foot combat is just as, or even more enjoyable, than vehicular combat IMO. It’s important that you’re at least able to stand a chance off-spawn… There are many ways to encourage this… cramming in a ton of vehicles isn’t one of them.

But we haven’t encountered that in Halo 5’s BTB. The new maps and some of the older ones have a healthy amount of vehicles on the map, many of them offered to each team at their base. Some maps heavily support vehicle combat, while others heavily support infantry. There’s a good mix of both kinds of maps in rotation. You got maps like Altar, Viking, and Dispelled that support heavy vehicle use then you’ve got Eagle Square, Scavenger, and Antifreeze that support heavy infantry use but still offer vehicles for people to use.

Of course none of this will matter so long as that -Yoink!- BR remains as a starting weapon but that’s a topic for another thread.
