Way too many teams are taking over BTB

Look, I’m not good at this game and I’m going +20 and up almost every single game because almost nobody that plays even knows how the weapons work, in my completely anecdotal experience.

If anything these people should be trying to party up with ME.

…Okay? shrugs I get a rare invite or two but people generally want to play by themselves or people they know. Whatever they think is more fun. A lot of the time just playing to win doesn’t matter to them - or at least not enough to invite randoms.

I’ve noticed its been suggested numerous times here already, but maybe you can be the one to invite people you think are good or just had a good experience with. I’ve sent messages to Warthog drivers for their nice driving when they gave me some good kills or defending a fleeing flag carrier and sent a couple congrats to those in LSS when I’ve had a good, final duel with them or just thanking them to make sure that one camper wasn’t the one to win the match :stuck_out_tongue: Never really invited anyone to play with me but that’s because I prefer to go solo or play with friends.

If you want to play with teams or at least people who will communicate, you can go to Discord channels or forums or anyone else and simply invite people to play.

I mean, I don’t really every see or hear anyone that’s even tolerable and worth any sort of invite. As I said above, most of the people that even have mic’s are very rude, so I trash talk back.

As I’ve said time and time again in this thread, the community that plays this game is extremely toxic. If they all had mics it would probably sound like an early 2000’s CoD lobby.

That’s nothing new either, whether in Halo, CoD, or any other game. Learn to tune it out or avoid it, as the good old mute settings have allowed me to keep having a good time even during the early years of the Halo franchise once we got Xbox Live.

Again, if you’re really starved for teamwork or competence, go to a dedicated Discord channel or a forum. Your pickings will be much better there than randos in games.

Or just play a different game. Always that option.

I’m on about 6 dedicated Halo discord servers

They ALL laugh at the idea of playing Infinite.

You guys are really not fully aware of how bad the problem is apparently. Nobody interested in playing this game has any interest in playing as a team, which is where matching already established teams of snobs becomes a tremendous hurdle.

shrugs Oh well then. I like it, I’m having fun. That’s all fine for me.

If you’re not, again just go play something else. Go play MCC with those guys.

If the game’s really that bad to you and everyone else, then leave it. Healthiest and easiest option to do.

you’re still missing the point

I’m trying to convince people to improve the game so more people will play it

And I’m providing my opinion and experiences that when it comes to a lot of other things wrong with Halo Infinite, I don’t consider this to be one of the more critical issues that’s effecting my enjoyment much, if at all.

So? This is my thread and I’m stating outright that its impacting MY enjoyment of the game.

Heck, now I’m having to report a cheater by doing the convoluted method they require you to do through this website so its just one thing after another.

On a public thread where others such as myself are free to either agree or voice conflicting experiences, which is exactly what these forums are for. So sometimes the responses that you get will not be the ones you particularly want.

Such as, yes, I do agree that the report system needs to be vastly improved upon. Among other things.

But I do not find teams in Big Team Battle to make the game mode “impossible” to play as you have said and find it just fine to play on solo save for those moments where you team doesn’t want to go for a flag or just lose.

But, as been stated numerous times, that’s just part of the game and here I am months later still playing and enjoying it.

Literally had a game tonight where the only two people on my team with mics were actively throwing the powerseeds off the map so we couldn’t score them, and bragging about it.

Tell me again how you can just party up with people in this game and “have fun”

So you had a bad game with -Yoink!- Once again, not a new thing, but certainly not common. Just the more obvious and obnoxious ones that leads it to sticking with you like a bad taste.

I’m pretty sure I made it clear that I don’t and it certainly wouldn’t be them if I did. But I do have fun with it regardless, as my recent CTF game in Deadlock and my Slayer game in Breaker can attest. Plus just the nice day I had when I was off work and able to complete Challenges that had a bunch of weapon Challenges that let me do what I want.

All this talk is making me want to play a couple more games so I think I’ll go and do that.

Just a spartan themed dress up game

The problem with this mentality is those who search solo are the majority and they’re punished for it.

It’s obvious based on how they play, their skill level, their coordination etc, sometimes it’ll be more obvious if you match them multiple times in a row. I’ve been around the block and I know how solos play, and how those who are partied up play.

That sounds more fun than whatever 343 has planned for us. But just report them for griefing or something.

You know Halo discord communities exist right? Find people to party up with there. I get that people want the nostalgia days of finding friends in game, but that’s outdated now. There are communities being set up outside the game and that’s where people prefer using their VC and finding players.

Until 343 actually finds ways to integrate social tools into Infinite, it’s just not a social game. Period. If you don’t wanna put in the elbow grease and look for Discord communities who just wanna play Halo and have fun, that’s kinda on you.

Where to start? Look for some popular Halo content creator, they usually have a community set up for game nights, but it’s not to say they only play on game nights. It’s not a golden bullet solution but it’s a better start than any.

This game just needs a “party up” system and better post game lobby.

That alone would fix these sorts of problems. All you have to do if you want to play with others is wear a mic and eventually someone will want to roll a few games with you.

You’re right but I’m a part of a number of halo discord’s and nobody has any interest in ever playing Infinite. Most of the time people just laugh at the concept.

Like I said somewhere else in one of these threads, most people have full on deleted the game altogether at this point.

Its not so obvious to me then. Save for those rare times where I do happen to see those same people again in my next game, its difficult to consider whether or not I’m against partied up people (as in, people who are in an actual party of more than two people) or its just randoms that happen to work well together or I’m on that bad of a team that we just crumble.

I’ve had my moments where I just decide to go into a random Warthog as a gunner and me and a driver get a good run and decide to get back in another with them if we die and respawn since it worked so well, or just hopping into a passenger for an obvious attempt at a flag capture. Same with when you see a group of teammates pushing up to a flag or another objective. You just happen to connect up with them and make numerous runs because you happen to want to work for the objective so there’s always chances that people who seem to be partied up just happen to be randos that just happen to mesh well.

For me personally, I just don’t think my gaming experience has been so negatively impacted that I haven’t needed to accustom myself to whether I’m versing teams or not because…meh. I’m just playing typical BTB where sometimes you do, sometimes you don’t, but whatever that’s just how it is and I haven’t really seen any obvious differences if I was playing the previous Halos in BTB where sometimes I end up against teams that are sporting more obvious clan tags/emblems. Teams in Big Team Battle games, who would’ve thought.

Can you blame them? Infinite’s optimization for PC is terrible at best, and totally unplayable at worst. 80% of the people I’ve talk to who doesn’t wanna play Infinite anymore say that the main reason they don’t wanna play is because it runs like utter garbage. They can’t care less bout the cosmetics if the game runs smoothly but even that’s having an issue.
