way too many power weapons in multi team

Been playing it a lot since the jackpot weekend, I swear everywhere I go most players have a shotgun out nowhere, if there not spamming a shotgun then there spamming rockets, concussion rifles.

It was fun for a while because it meant I could play with the AR for a bit without people spamming the dmr/pistol but its bad enough having to put up with noob armor abilities, yes I know thats a old thing that hasn’t gone away since launch but they even took the sword block away so most games seems to be focused on people spamming shotgun or swords but mainly depends on what game they pick, it can be a utter nightmare.

I know this seems like a rant but I don’t want to go around every corner, get instant killed because I can’t shrug them off for a few seconds, the least they could do is dumb down the ammo because sometimes I have seen 2 people charging me at same time with shotgun which is stupid because the shotgun has a longer range in Reach than it had in the original trilogy.

Now I’m not sure if some agree or disagree on this but felt it had to be said.

I thought it was fine, I’m playing more multi-team myself now and I like how it is.

Shotgun definitely has a shorter range in Reach than in CE. Longer than 2 and 3 though.

Maybe true but the shotgun wasn’t as heavily used since the games I have played in Reach it just seems to be mostly who can get the shotgun first, then a 2nd comes out of nowhere when I do get it off them.

Only advice I have regarding shotguns is use communication figure out who has em and keep your distance and kill them from a far. If you think someone is waiting around a corner with a shotgun don’t run around it. Find a way to get to them that puts you farther away from them so you stay out of their range.

It definitely depends on the map. On Countdown, controlling the shotgun is very vital to doing well. On wider, open maps, such as Powerhouse, the shotgun isn’t as vital.

It’s just a shotgun and in multiteam it won’t last you long. Instead of 4 you have 12 enemies and with that limiting of range, the wielder is going to drop pretty quickly. Rockets can be annoying though. I don’t think multiteam really has that many power weapons for the amount of players against eachother.

9…9 hostiles…the whole game has 12 people, so unless everyone including yourself is trying to kill you, that would be 9 for the other teams.

Haha correct, my bad. I was thinking of a different game with squads. 4 vs 4 but they fully use the 16 player lobby. so makes it 12 enemies. Either way, 9 is way to many for the shotgun to really do damage.

Those people have 0 skill anyway. You 1 vs 1 them and they panic and die like they don’t even know how to play. I always go for objectives and still over positive the guy’s doing that.

343 seriously needs to fix that issue though. The lack of objective focus/team work is an abomination.

It’s not the power weapons, it’s the people who use them. Not many people play for the objective in MT, so they’re just -Yoink!- the power weapons and kill people who do go for the objective…

And for Slayer, you’re playing with 12 people on small maps with 9 enemies, of course people will sit in corners with a Sword and a Shotgun, nothing to do about it.

Man I totally agree…shotgun range is ridiculously long in Reach…i swear i get hit from like 20 ft away sometimes, it irritates the heck outta me, shotty is not suppose to have that range…hopefully thats fixed in H4

There aren’t any more power weapon on the maps in multi team than there are in any other gametypes/playlists.
