I’m sure everyone will agree that 343 went way too far and not only dumped 200+ armors into the game but the graphic designers created complete awful looking ones that take up most of all the sets in the game. I’m a Graphic Designer myself and I can see how bad the creators were when they were doing the designs. I would’ve only focus on making them cool and unique and also not design 200+ armor sets cause that is a lot of time when it comes to designing each set.

The sheer amount of sets was to pad out the REQ system, taking advantage of people’s impatience to increase microtransactions.
If microtransactions stay, corporate ideology dictates that things sadly won’t change.

True and that’s what worries me not just for the future of Halo but gaming in general.
It would be fine if unlocking them didn’t depend on Req Packs. The randomness factor is incredibly frustrating for someone chasing a particular set. To this day I have not unknocked either the Mark V(α) or the Mark V(δ), and it kills me.

Yeah. I would’ve prefer the Halo Reach ranking system where you have to be a certain rank and have enough points to unlock the armor set. It would make players really grind the game a lot more every day.

Or have a specific set of armour be unlocked by completing achievements. You earn some gamerscore and a set or helmet to recognize your feat.
Either way, I’m fine with both.

The Mark V(α) is available in standard Gold Packs. The Mark V (δ) and the rest of the Classic Helmets on the other hand, were only available in the Classic Helmet pack for about 150,000 RP or $9.99. You can still buy it from the Microsoft Store, though.

Reach CR and Rank Unlocking AND sets locked behind achievements and commendations? I think yes.
The shenanigans with Battlefront 2 should help in having a good system for the next game.

Sadly true, one of the worst things in Halo these days is micro-transactions. I hated them in every Halo because they did something to make the game worse.
The problem with the over saturation of armours is it makes the UI look messy and is difficult to find specific armours, even breaks the game. Future Halo games should never have loot box’s/micro-transactions of any kind or it will continue to hurt the IP, it’s only a matter of time until the backlash ends up like what happened with SWB2.
