I’ll start off by saying that I don’t know if anyone has presented this idea before me but It’s something that’s been on my mind for a while and I finally have gotten around to illustrating my idea.
We all know that the coating system isn’t going anywhere; and is the main reason we aren’t getting the ability to choose our colours. but I believe that there is an easy work around that benefits both the player and the publisher while still not infringing on any contracts that are emplace for specific coatings that are being sold by third parties.
The current way coating work in infinite is like buying a skin like in any other modern fps. once you buy it you cannot customize it at all. however I do not believe this needs to be the case. coatings in my opinion could make money and be far more friendly to player expression if they were sold as a colour template that the player could choose which colour they want represented in the given area the coating covers. below is an photoshopped example oh how this would work.
As you can see the coating is the same but it gives the player the ability to choose what colours they want.
