That’s an opinion. He still held his own against a Spartan II, that’s an incredible feat.

John was not trying to Kill Locke I think he seen Locke as fellow Spartan but was not gonna let him get in his way either.

Mark vi looks great, I still hate Spartans having colored undersuits though. Why does Palmer get the luxury of not looking like a doofus?!

Fotus

If he wasn’t going to let him get in his way, he could have just killed him. John has killed Marines before just because they annoyed him in the books and such.

I know right.

Noble.

Reach armor.

Helioskrill, not just for the looks but for what it signifies.

343 has changed John’s character some and I feel Locke has a bigger part to play. I can see a spin off series of games with Locke as a main character there never gonna replace Chief with Locke the Fans that would cos a massive -Yoink- storm.

Well, even so, I really enjoy Locke’s character. He’s kind of Master Chief reincarnated in my eyes. He does what he can for Humanity, minus a relationship with an AI that would carry a lot of emotional weight.

gungnir- since reach

I like Venator armor. It’s sleek and sharp.

How so Locke is not a hyper lethal killing machine. I can’t wait to see how they develop his character in future installments however.

Locke was definitely supposed to be an analogue to the Master Chief. They’re both terse leaders, they’re both known for finishing their missions, and they’re both decorated. In many ways this game mirrored Halo 2 (the way the narrative weaves). I however found Locke to be completely annoying. If you’re going to introduce a character to play as instead of your actual protagonist, then at least develop the character in SOME way. The problem is the game wants to start you in the middle of the conflict as opposed to the beginning. I HATED playing the Arbiter in Halo 2 but at least the Arbiter was shown to have motivation. At least you knew who the Arbiter was and why he was doing what he was doing. We know virtually nothing about Locke except that it was his job.
