Watchtowers

One thing that I disliked about Halo Wars was how little FOV the units had, making it so at no time do you ever have a full screen- there is always a blind spot somewhere. I think that the FOV should be improved so that when you are directly controlling units you can pretty much fill the screen, and it’s only when you pan away do things get dark. I think that the dark areas could be brightened a little bit so I can at least make out the map layout from explored areas better.

Additionally there should be upgrades for radar and watchtowers to vastly improve visibility around a base. To balance all of that the maps should be bigger and bases should be placable anywhere or something.

[EDIT] The FOV should also be weighted toward the direction of the unit. It shouldn’t be a sphere. And the more heads in a vehicle the bigger the view. So one more advantage for infantry is that they’d get a wider FOV than a scorpion.

well you can see the actual range of fire in empire total war, which is also made by CA… could be possible

Damn I thought when I saw the title this guy was gonna say what the rebel watchtowers actually do because I have no clue.
Also I haven’t played any games made by CA so again I have no clue

The rebel watchtowers don´t do anything but helps gain a star for units

I could get behind this, so long as your vision is still obstructed by obstacles like cliff walls.

I don’t see anything wrong with that(or maybe reduced depending on how tall)
