FIrst and foremost, in regards to the Watchdog coating it seems like the Armor version has an extra layer of wear and tear when compared to the Weapon version. It takes away from the value of it a little bit, but I honestly wonder if it was a graphical issue. @Unyshek I know you’re not the guy that has control over the coatings but you probably know him. Just wanted this to be known that the Coating’s gleam and shine isn’t consistent over Armor and Weapon coatings.
Also, I do hope we get more visor options for the Mark V [B] armor core. Black, White, maybe some other colors like green, purple, etc, ones with patterns. The ones we have now are classic-style which is cool, but I’d like some other options too. Hopefully for Season 2

I really hope 343i is investigating doing away with core restrictions on visors, and pretty much everything else (Coatings and Helmets at least…). These feel super arbitrary and limit players’ ability to express themselves with the customization suite. The potential of Infinite’s customization is extreme, but the reality today is a bit underwhelming.
As far as the Watchdog coating goes, I didn’t grind to SR152 so can’t speak to that. It is a major shame if you went through that and the coating isn’t what you expected, though. I do seem to remember the initial unveiling of that coating looking a lot more polished and pristine than the in-game version I’ve seen online. I just figured 343 had decided to change the design some between the time they revealed that reward and launch. That’s really not cool for players who preferred the coating as initially advertised, though, as I’m sure many of them had that specific thing in mind when they decided to put themselves through the wringer for 152.

There are some instances where cross-core brings back memories of people wearing Fotus helmet and Helioskrill armor, absolute monstrosity of an armor set. Some pieces just look downright silly to put together, but that’s my own personal opinion.
In reality I think that certain pieces could be cross-core but making things like undersuits and chestpieces cross-core would be a bit more of an issue due to each core being very different in architecture. Like, I’m not sure if the Mark V [B} undersuit would fit the Mark VII properly or if it would clip through the armor, or having Yoroi undersuit on Mark VII would be kinda funky.
Things like Visors and coatings though, I definetly agree should be cross-core. It would allow for some really cool player designs.
As far as Watchdog goes, I don’t even think it was intentional. The little icon for the coating is still shiny, and the weapon version is shiny, I think maybe they overlooked the wear and tear on the armor coating, or it’s a graphical bug. Either way I hope it gets remedied

I agree on keeping the underlying cores distinct- those are actually super cool to keep distinct IMO.
I just think that literally whenever possible, players should be able to customize how they want. Personally, there have always been armor pieces/combinations/effects that I’ve found to be extremely ugly and/or goofy to look at. But at the end of the day, it feels like the right thing to do to give players the end say in what they want to equip and how.
Eventually, I hope basically all the current restrictions go away. It’d be amazing if for season 2 or 3, all permutations become equipable on each main core (or at least as many as is technically possible) and coatings can be applied per-armor piece as Shaders work in Destiny 2.

Universal Armor coatings, visors, and when applicable, shoulders, utility, wrist, chest and helmet attachments would be awesome. I would love to mix certain aspects of Mark VII and Mark V and such.

Its nice to see 3000 hrs spent for SR152 was worth it (people even spent money for the girnd to get the legendary booster pack). First screwed the Skin, then made the only good thing from 152 grind (the weapon skin) and give it to everyone for free. They Basically used Bait and switch tactic with us. So i didn’t have that much hopes left in 343 to keep there promises

Lost all hopes on 343 after they gave out SR152 weapon skin for free
