  1. is he trying to kill him
  2. i though the arbiter is good because he’s with chief in halo 3

keep in mind that im playing MCC and an only up to Halo 2, no major spoilers(i have played halo 4 and know the end to 3)

thanks to the people who respond

The Arbiter is merely helping Agent Locke track down Master Chief, because he went AWOL, as stated in the final cut-scene in Halo 2: Anniversary.

Although, nobody knows why Chief went rogue in the first place, because 343i has been very selective on releasing information on Halo 5: Guardians’ Campaign, so most of the info you hear from people is just speculation.

Chief has gone AWOL, and Locke was in the new prologue (and epilogue) to H2A, which actually takes place between H4 and 5. Locke wasn’t even a Spartan at the time of H2.

  1. We don’t kow this yet. I don’t think he/they is/are trying to kill the chief. My guess is that he/they will try to bring him back.
2.He is…at least in terms of peace with humanity.

1.) Don’t know. Hope not. Probably not.

2.) He is. This is kind of a weird situation for everyone involved. He’s a little surprised, but I don’t think they have any intention of killing Chief.

Also, before you ask, Locke isn’t actually in Halo 2. In H2A he has a cutscene at the beginning and end which weren’t in the original game. 343’s trying to get people excited for Guardians.

does anyone know why chief is really AWOL is it cortana

Oh man. I wonder what 343i is doing with our beloved main protagonist. He was a war hero at the end of Halo 3 and might turn into a war criminal at the end of Halo 5. I don’t find Locke and Chief’s climax to be settled in a nice little chat, or Locke being put into an Arbiter-like situation to team up with the Chief. But I am finding myself thinking about a brawl against the two and the Chief being perceived as an enemy of the human race by ONI or whomever, albeit true or not.
:frowning:

We currently do not have the full details as to why Chief has gone AWOL. Only speculation.

If you watched the H2A opening cutscene you could probably know, but

  1. No. Locke specifically stated that Chief went AWOL, and the UNSC “want him back”. Unless Lord Hood became Satan between 2 and 5, they want him alive.

  2. He is still good. Arby leads the Swords of Sangheilios, which is a generally pro-UNSC faction, and coupled with the fact that Locke isn’t out to kill MC…yeah.
