I got 4 wasp kills over the last two games of warzone tongith, and at the end of the game none of them showed as either a skill kill in the summary or a commendation tally. Is this thing broken??? Super annoying since I specifically got Anti-air wraiths to take them out to try to complete the commendation.
You may have killed the pilot before you destroyed the wasp itself, it happens a lot and gets annoying, try to avoid the cockpit when shooting at them, you wanna shoot the turbines. I should’ve finished it a lot sooner than I did because of that.
Would be nice if true, however, in my latest game, I just took out a wasp with a rocket launcher, same thing. Rocket kill, no wasp commendation. I noticed that I am not getting phaeton kills recorded either…messed up.
Are you aiming at the front of the Wasp? If the pilot dies even a moment before the Wasp explodes (which can happen if the rocket hits them dead-on) then the Wasp kill doesn’t count. Try attacking from behind or directly below.
If it’s a recent thing try rebooting to see if the commendations refresh.

I totally feel for you. And I suspect everyone else that has gone thru this commendation grind feels the same way. I wouldn’t classify this as broken - but it’s extremely unforgiving.
When i was grinding towards this commendation, I felt like i needed to get 3 or 4 kills for one to actually register. I think the problem is that the Spartan is pretty exposed in the wasp and it’s fairly easy to kill him before the actual wasp goes down. (Spartan kill vs Wasp kill)
With Railguns I tried to hit the turbofans. It helps a bit. At the end of the day, this is a more challenging commendation than one would expect. Good luck to you!!
Well I got one, used a banshee to kill the f$*#k&@. That one counted!
Thanks to those who gave advice, I finally did finish this one (9 wasp kills on the last night), and this is how:
- Instead of waiting for wasps to appear on warzone, I instead would pick up as soon as I could either a spartan laser - preferably an upgrade (i.e. endgame), or a spanker em
- Camped out usually a bit back on a map, usually with a bit of cover, but within sight/range of an outer base
- If a wasp did appear and I was in or close to a base, got an invisibility power up if it made sense to chase it down
- The spanker em was especially good at removing ground/air threats other than wasps that would find me, and taking out opposition tanks etc at really long range with splasers was fun while waiting
Mowed through wasps very quickly this way.
