Hell, the whole game is going to be a teaser for Halo 6 in of itself. Rescuing Cortana was a big deal in that game so it won’t take much to tie that to the events of Halo 6. They sort of did the same with Halo 2: A and the Arbiter.
No rumor, that I know of.

I highly doubt a H3 anniversary will come out on it’s own. I can see them making it an add-on for MCC, but after the last huge fail, I cant see them making a huge investment in an other remaster. Plus, H5 has micro-transactions that will continue to make them money so why would they want to stop that?

Because they can do both and make more money? They’ll easily make their money back and more with H3 Anniversary; its a no brainer. The MCC was really just Halo 2 with access to all the other Halo games as an added bonus like if you had gotten the code in the box.
With next gen graphics I think Halo 3 Anniversary would be too big to just put out as DLC. Since they sold quite a lot of both Anniversary games they have a pretty good incentive to add this.
