It was always announced to be released with Season 3.
Season 2 was about the Co-Op Campaign.
They also announced quite early that Season 1 will be extended for 3 additional months.
But Forge was never communicated to come out in March.
It’s highly likely gonna be :
- Free Custom Games Browser and downloading of files
- Free Forge + additional features tied to Campaign purchase
I mean looking at how they monetized PC MCC in various pieces, f2p players will probably not get a full free forge, with some features lock away behind buying the full game. We’ll have to see just to what extent are the features being limited by. Be it Forge Budge limit or some decals locked away, who really knows what 343 has planned?
Here’s why I think Campaign will be the ticket to Forge though:
The Weapon mentioned the Ring having a systems module which was rebuilding it, and never mentions it again until you reach the final level. It’s too good to be true if they don’t somehow use this as a way to give narrative to Forge mechanics in Infinite.
