I’d say the visual was inspired, but the name might have been a coincidence. I feel like there would be better things to name it to reference MGS than a psychic s&m enthusiast who wears a gas mask. Not a lot of parallels going on there for me.

It was probably inspired by any other mech in any other game or movie that had a mech.

I believe that every mech in games and movies were inspired by the AT-ST from Star Wars. It may not have ben the first mech, but probably the most popular one. I could be wrong though.

I honestly thought it looked a lot like the mechs used at the end of Starship Troopers 3.
