Just wondering what everyone thought after 5 years about the halo 5 pistol start compared to the BR and DMR?
It’s the most well balanced utility weapon to date.
Not a big fan to be honest at this point in the game’s life span, the first 2 years of halo 5 had a good balance I think. Where the BR, DMR, Carbine all had their own ways to beat the pistol, and the BR was definitely a better weapon than the pistol but unlike most of the past titles, the pistol could still beat these weapons. Now it’s not really like that anymore. Even with the pretty damn good balance in the game before, I’d say I still prefer BR starts compared to pistol starts.
I liked it. A single shot weapon for me is preferred in competitive. I like 5SK over 4, and like the idea of the bullet hitting my target without worrying if the other 2 bullets in the same trigger pull may miss or not due to recoil or how good/bad the server is and its effects (lag) on aim assist and magnetism . It would still affect the magnum but to a less degree since it’s 1 bullet.
If it were br starts I mean…I’d still have liked it…cause we’d all have it. The h5 br is hot garbage now, but…we’d all have it at least lol.
Personally I thought it was a very good utility weapon and I enjoy using it.
I preferred it before the current weapon tuning. The pistol was strong but it didn’t make everything else redundant. Today, you’re using the pistol in most situations or you’re dead. It makes the game rather repetitive, which is unfortunate.
I believe rifles like the BR, DMR, LR, Carbine should out perform it at range and the AR should punish it up close. If the pistol player is decent though, that’s not very likely to happen.
