Wrong with it? It was amazing. Rate of fire and damage. It was a hot purple acid spitting death viper. So they defanged it.
The 3 beta was great.

Basically it was the Halo 2 PC Carbine?
Nothing special. More entertaining it was than the full release.
Not well-liked, a lot of people said it was the end of Halo, etc.

I remember people only complaining about things that were unbalanced or were buggy, such as grav lift equipment on high ground, carbine rof and damage, needler damage, snowbounds door bugginess, banshee bugginess. The only couple things I remember that people thought strayed from halo were lack of rocket launcher lock on for vehicle destruction being replaced by spartan laser and bubble shields slowing down gameplay. Plenty of new things for Halo were well received in the H3 Beta.
This should have been posted in the General Chat about Halo. Not in the Halo 5 Guardians area.
What I’m getting at is the fundamental mechanics of the game weren’t questioned that I remember. To much of the basics are constantly being redone in 343’s iterations of Halo this is where my problems stand, kill times, sprint, boost, clambering, ADS/Smart scope flinch. Even the aim assist is too far different than any halo game, and that varied A LOT from game to game. From Hit scan weapons to progressive assist the mechanics for even the shooting part changed from halo game to halo game but maintained the Halo feel and battles. The aim assist in this game is akin to call of duty and does nothing but create twitch shooter interactions instead of Halo-like gunfights.

Nah. I was there back then, there was a lot of Halo 3 hate, though not as much as Halo 5. Been around since CE, lots of people said Halo 2 was the end of Halo as well. I believe there were even a few hate sites dedicated to it.

Halo 3 was crap but not as bad of crap as Halo 4. On a scale of one to ten Halo 3 was a solid 7 of crap.
