So I just learned that the Didact was composed at the end of Escalation. Though according to the Halo 4 terminals, he was supposed to be immune to the Composer. Was he lying so that he could stay in biological form while his fellow Prometheans digitized themselves?
I doubt he was lying since Chief had an immunity to the Composer and the Librarian had to get that from somewhere. I do think there is a difference between one Composer and a piece of Halo crashing into several at once.

Consider that the Didact is capable to withstand a bullet to the head, but if he is shot multiple times continuously eventually it would kill him. The effects overlapped each other intensifying the effect.
I dont think anyone is truly immune rather that its a resistance. John who was given an “immunity” from the Librarian still was affected by the composer on Ivanoff station knowing out his shields and knocking him out. Shadow’s immunity was most likely overwhelmed due to the combined energy of 7 or more composers.
The “multiple Composers at once” explanation still doesn’t explain why he didn’t try that back in the day.
I understand the Didact is “composed” but what proof do we really have? Did Master Chief activate the composers before being teleported off the piece of 03? Am I missing something. From what I see is that the piece of the ring breaks off and crashes on the nearby planet. By master chief saying the didact is “contained”, I really thought he meant he is contained on a planet without having a way to get off. Seriously need some clarification (I am sure we will get some clarification on Didact’s whereabouts and current state in Halo 5)

The segment of the ring crashed near the composer’s likely destroying them and setting them off composing him.

Because he was trying for an immunity to flood infection not composition.

He might still be around, but then why are the Promeatheans protecting the Master Chief?

I did read the comic and nowhere did I see the composers compose him. I see him burning up like with an explosion when the ring portion got broken off.

This is a more likely explanation as there was no explanation of what happened. I understand the Universe section says he is now a digital essence but anything is possible. Chief sais he is contained not composed.

Now you’re just arguing over semantics. The Didact was caught in the middle of an explosion of 5 Composers, and is now confirmed to be a digital essence - that’s what being composed does to someone. I don’t doubt that his state of composition is probably a bit different than a Promethean Knight’s, but the overall end result is the same.

I was not arguing at all. If you read what Jameson Locke said, I replied with “This is the most likely explanation”. Therefore I am saying it is probably true but would like a more thorough explanation wither though Halo 5 or a book. I just think it was very quick in escalations. I am not arguing against the Didact being composed but I would like to see it in the story mentioned (not in the Halo Universe section and certainly not through a picture of a burning Didact). You bolded me mentioning anything is possible, I don’t see how that is arguing as 343 can spin out anything from this. By saying “anything is possible” I mean ya, the Didact could be a digital essence but maybe 343 has something else in store. Maybe that is what the UNSC thinks the Didact is. 343 is not going to reveal future store nor confirm story through the universe section.
In the end, yes I do believe the Didact was composed but I would like an official cutscene in Halo 5 or something written in a book etc to really show the Didact’s fate. He is an essential character in Halo and deserves more than that.
